Selling my Scirocco

I'm afraid I'll be waving bye bye to mine very soon, I've ordered an A1

Due to the wait in getting it I'm going to have to sell it privately
What is the best way of doing this, tried to sell a car once and all I got were brokers phoning me wanting money upfront to sell it for me

Re: Damage to Rear Nearside Wheel Arch

I have an almost identical dent - picked up on my street. Whoever did it didn't stop to tell me either. They also clipped the alloy. Haven't had a quote, but have also thought about Chipsaway - please do post with how you get on - good luck. My alloy is slightly damaged as well, that's another £50 ...

Re: Damage to Rear Nearside Wheel Arch

Any CCTV coverage in the carpark or entry/exit of the car park if you have a tight window of opportunity? Don't, under any circumstances take it to the Benfield bodyshop in Newcastle by the Arena. They can make galvanised cars rust and the repairs are piss-poor. Hi, Mrs Peter in Hexham was in charg...

Damage to Rear Nearside Wheel Arch

Image

Hi All

Some prat (unknown) swipped my Scirocco in a Car Park, been quoted nearly £300 to repair.

Should I consider someone like Chipsaway as a cheaper alternative

Anyone used them?

Occasional Loss of Power

Has anyone else experienced this on a 160 TSI:- I can pull away from a junction and sometimes the acceleration is very poor, just dies between gear changes. My VW Dealer has checked it (over 3 days!!) and it did do it once when they test drove it, but the computer says there's nothing wrong and VW a...

Re: 1.4 TSI engine power loss

Just collected mine from Dealer, nothing showed up on diagnostic check, but the Mechcanic agrees with me that the acceleration is poor.
So he has reported this to VW and expects an answer and fix soon. Meanwhile I won't pull out in front of ant trucks!

Software updates

Just sitting thinking............ When you have a Sat Nav, iphone or any piece of modern tech costing low hundreds, one is always getting emails or updates on a regular basis as the manfacturers find gliches or improvments to the product. But on a £20k car with more computing power than Apollo 13, w...

Re: 1.4 TSI engine power loss

Mine is only 2 months old with 1300 miles, pulling away is nowhere near as smooth and fast as it was,
It's ok from 50 to 70, so I'm guessing the Turbo is alright and it might be the Supercharger, leaving it with the Dealer on Friday

Changing Settings

On my non GT 1.4 TSI, how do I :-

Set auto lock
Turn of DLRs
lower mirrors when reversing

as I don't have a MF Steering wheel, do I need VagCom, whatever it is, or find a friendly local Roc owner who has it, or can I buy it?

TIA

Well, the Indians like my car!

After the great Broardband crash up here, I've spent the morning on the phone to BT and every little helper who's had access to my Desktop couldn't stop talking about and admiring my background photo of my Roc.
Nice!

Re: Your 1st winter as a Scirocco owner

For anyone who is just about to enjoy their first winter with a Scirocco, specifically ones that leave their cars parked outside overnight, now would be a good time to invest in a can of 3 in 1 silicon spray (or the like). Give all the rubbers that have any contact with your drivers and passengers ...

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)

VW build dates are all over the place, I ordered a Tiguan in July and my Dealer was unable to give me a date, lost patience in September, called in to cancel order at the same time as a Scirocco 1.4 160 in Candy White was being unloaded from a transporter.

The rest is History!!

You'll probably have to buy a UK Power Lead, might out weigh the saving, how much are you expecting to save?
