Re: Anyone know anything about cameras?

The olympus E420 isn't micro four thirds, it's a small SLR. Might be a good option though. The Lumix G1 is the only camera on the market at the moment using the new system (i have one and it's great). Olympus will have theirs out soon i believe, but it'll be a retro styled thing rather than an SLR s...

Re: Dynaudio...Worth it...??

I see, i'm still a bit of a ludite when it comes to different media, i still don't own an iPod yet, puely because i can't be arsed to convert everything, seems like a ton of work. I think it's a question of diminishing returns as well when it comes to reproduced sound quality, for me anyway, once it...

Re: Daylight Running Lights. ARGGHHH......

From 2011, there is a European directive that all new cars will have to have DRL's. Vdub are doing it now. Turning them off now is not going to affect MOT's later on. As long as you dont turn them off on a car thats built from the date in 2011. I think if you have xenon's then fine, but don't like ...

Re: Dynaudio...Worth it...??

Worth it i says, you have to pretty much crank the mids, and the bass to maybe three quarters. Leave the treble in the middle. That's how to EQ it. The head unit isn't EQ'd specifically to the dynaudio amp and speakers is the reason for this i assume. Anyway's that's how to get great, clear sound f...

Re: Funny noise?

You should hear the early 1.6 FSI engines at start up, they genuinely sound like a diesel. That's just how they sound. Anyways, i hear the noise, i just think it's a non-issue personally, it doesn't bother me. it just sounds like a resonance of some kind under load at low revs, it's not rattly sound...

Re: Funny noise?

Mine makes the noise and the heatshield doesn't rattle when you tap on it there, just sounds like me tapping on the heatshield. Sounds to me more like a resonance inside the turbo system, rather than an external metallic rattle occuring at a particular resonance. I really don't see the problem, reje...

Not for me that one. The new renaultsport Megane looks awesome though, and will no doubt be a great drive. I like my 'roc though, does everything well, looks confort, fun, build quality etc etc. The last renaultsport i has (clio r27) just wasn't durable enough, cloth started to fray within 10K mile...

Re: Owning a Veyron isn't....cheap

Sounds depressing..

..and stupid. it was great when the Mclaren out dragged it up to 120, before the extra power of that big bus took over.

Re: Your favorite Scirocco-moment?

The good; 1. Picking it up from the dealer. 2. A drive home one night a few nights ago, through the backroads. My usual route but conditions were so nice, it had just showered leaving the road beautifully slick, no standing water just beautifully slippery from the oil and stuff rising. 3. Last week ...

Re: Funny noise?

Do not repair, the noises are construction-related and normal. There is no parts damage. if the noise is construction related than why do only some cars make that noise????????????????????????????? Are you so sure they don't all make the noise? It only happens if you drive it like a diesel. I wasn'...

Re: Bird Poop

Don't think so, i think it's quite harsh. Might be OK though but a car shampoo would be better. The little spray bottle of quick finish is amazing stuff, and will stop you scratching the paint, it's ideal for removing bird crap and stuff between washes.

Re: Bird Poop

Detailing fluid (not sure if that's the correct term) such as swissvax quick finish (amazing stuff) and a cotton towel or microfibre cloth. There's loads of others on the market though. It's basically a lubricant you can use to wipe stuff off the car between washes without scratching the paint. I us...

Re: Daylight Running Lights. ARGGHHH......

Thanks DavidH for the warning. Maybe you're right, I've just got a real downer on daytime driving lights. Thing is they'll maybe help protect the few that use them now cause we all think "why's he got his lights on" but if we all use them all the time then I think they just become distrac...

Re: Supaguard nightmare!!!

It was funny watching the rain bead off the bonnet yesterday compared to the other panels (the only panel i've waxed as a tester-we're doing the whole car on thursday). I totally agree though, it's a great colour and will look the nuts when it's all done. Always looks better in the wet which is a go...
