Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
That's how I got round the problem, diectly connected Microphone Input +ve to Microphone Output +ve, and Microphone Input -ve to Microphone Output -ve. The pin out of the the conector is in the GTI link on page three of this thread. I just linked the pins with a piece of bent wire and heat-shrink sl...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
The car was in for service a couple of weeks ago and I asked them to have a look at the RCD510 software to see if it could be upgraded to work with the upgraded phone kit. They refused to do it as part of the service, saying that because that phone kit wasn't fitted to the car when it was new they w...

Re: Tail Light Awash
Thanks for your quick reply. I've missed the "2 Year" window on the purchase of the parts. As they're genuine parts, bought through a dealer, might they be covered by the extended warranty? I've washed the faulty unit out, a bit of corrosion on the bulb carrier but not too bad. If they won...

Tail Light Awash
Past few times I've washed my car, I've noticed an increading amount of condensation, and now pooled water inside one of the tail lights. I fitted a pair of genuine new and boxed "R" tail lights just under three years ago. On closer inspection it looks like the lens has separated from the ...

Re: Can anyone retrofit bluetooth?
I think fitting is relatively easy if you have the right box and loom. The adapter looms that fit between the RCD510 and the existing car loom should give you a plug'n'play solution that will need very little VCDS coding. A new car with a new bluetooth box will also avoid campatibility issues. There...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
Wiring mod done. I've looped the mike connection to bypass the RCD510 direct to the bluetooth kit. The bluetooth phone kit now works, no problems, but I'm still annoyed that I couldn't code the RCD510 to pass the microphne connection through to the bluetooth kit without having to change the wring. A...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
Right guys, a litte progress has been made, but not really in the right direction... My microphone fault isn't intermittent. I'd thought the car microphone was working because my home phone echoed when I'd tested the car kit, but it turns out it was actully feeding back through the house phone micro...

Re: My headlights will not turn off
On some cars you can turn the DRLs off in VCDS as well, so that the "Auto" switch position does what it's supposed to do.

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
Battery level is now fine, an hour to work and an hour home has done it. I appear to have an intermittent microphone on the phone kit though, some of the "open circuit" messages might have been true rather than coding problems. I'll drop the headlining end first, un-plug, blow at it, and p...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
Thanks for your advice, the car had told me it was going to shed load to protect battery voltage. It also started to make a quiet gong warning tone when unlocked, every ten seconds or so, which I assume is a further warning of low battery? Everything does appear to be working, I'll do another scan w...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
I think I'm getting there, but am confused by the VCDS scan which states in the headlines that there are faults on the Central Electrics (09) and Phone (77) modules, but doesn't give any detail in the section specific to those modules. Has anyone got any pointers for me? Thanks. Sunday,11,November,2...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
Well, having read the car handbook, it seems that the bluetooth module is integrated with the RCD510, the instrument cluster MFD and the Multi-Function Steering Wheel, but no mention of voice control. I'm a little surprised, but still prefer the better integrated "Premium Bluetooth" kit to...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
After much swearing and levering with a jeweler's screwdriver I managed to slide the purple locking key out of the quad lock connector, then with two bent paperclips released the locking tabs on the pins in the quad lock to slide them out. I've soldered the four unterminated wires as directed by the...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
I've stripped out the VW Bury Bluetooth kit, all very straight forward once the RCD510 and Climatronic controls were out. It was just sat at the back of the centre console, an adapter loom connecting it between the car RCD510 loom and the head unit. A single wire to the fuse box supplying it, and th...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
My car was retro fitted with the VW Bury Bluetooth kit by the dealer before I bought it, it was a demonstrator. The dealer said they had fitted the Bury kit because the VW Kit didn't work with iPhones. I would always have preferred the VW kit because my phone at the time was a Nokia that did support...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module
That's very helpful, thanks. The new bluetooth module should come today, I'll have a look at the weekend. It's going to be a suck-it-and-see job, I didn't install the Bury Bluetooth and so don't know anything about that installation. If the VW kit will fit behind the RCD510 that will certainly make ...

Thanks Mark, could you post a pictrure?
I'd like to see just where it sits and how the cables are routed.
