Thanks for the reply. I did manage to fix it, turned out to be a faulty injector on no 2 cylinder. Quite a labour intensive task! Hope the other injectors don't fail but so far so good [emoji1303]

Re: Scirocco R folding mirrors
The procedure with VCP is not a secret anymore. I do the same procedure without VCP: I program straight the EEPROM. Here the VCP procedure : http://youtu.be/g9x7IuEaHJQ My Golf: http://youtu.be/Bf8loXinepM Good luck ;) Hi, have tried this procedure with VCP but the security code 04354 doesn't work....

Re: Passenger Electric Window Switch
No problem at all. Maybe it is possible to do it without removing the door card, but I couldn't figure out how!? Thanks again for your help though.Cuprabob wrote:Apologies, I was sure you could dislodge the clip without having to remove the door card. Glad you got it sorted.

Re: Passenger Electric Window Switch
Just to inform I have now replaced the window switch. I had to remove the door card to get access to the switch housing clips. Removing the door card wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Misfire And Rough Idle
Hi, I have a misfire and rough idle. I used VCP to look at the trouble codes and they are P0171, P0300, P0302, P000A and P2096. So far I have replaced the coils and spark plugs, and although the misfire isn't quite as bad it's still there. My next thoughts are fuel injector or maybe compression? Or ...

Re: Bonnet Release Cable Rear
Managed to fit the cable by removing the scuttle panel which gave access to the grommets that the cable passes through. There's one in the bulkhead and one in the chassis leg. It's a bit tight as the wiper motor and mechanism are in the way, but you can just about get your hands in there to push the...

Re: Car Won't Start After Erasing DTCs
Turned out to be the battery, so purely coincidental that it wouldn't start after clearing the DTCs!!
Tried charging it but to no avail. Had to get it replaced as was still under warranty. Only replaced it in Feb 2018!
Oh well, it's fixed now.

Car Won't Start After Erasing DTCs
Hi, I had a misfire and using VCP the DTCs were P0300 and P0302. I changed the spark plugs and coil packs, started the car and the misfire was cured. I then proceeded to erase the DTCs and now the car won't start! I'm at a loss as to why it won't start after clearing the DTCs!? Anyone ever had this ...

Re: Passenger Electric Window Switch
Finally got around to having a look at the window switch but using plastic trim tools I cannot get the switch and housing out of the door card. I didn't want to use too much force but its well and truly in there. I cannot see how it is held in place!? Any further advice, anyone changed a switch befo...

Re: Passenger Electric Window Switch
Thank you very much for the advice. I was worried I would have to remove the door card. Sure I saw a a post, can't remember where now that said you had to remove it.
I will take a look during the week
Thanks again!

Passenger Electric Window Switch
Hi, the passenger electric window switch has failed on my 2011 R. Has anyone attempted replacing the switch and if so have any tips? Do I need to remove the door card to get access to it?
Thanks

Bonnet Release Cable Rear
Hi, had my bonnet release cable snap at the lever in the footwell. Ordered a replacement cable and taped a fish wire to the old cable and pulled through bulkhead to the coupler at the headlight. Taped the new cable to the fish wire and tried to pull through grommet in bulkhead but it got stuck and u...

No worries, I have heard the same but not 100% sure. VW are only charging me £27.50 plus VAT - providing they can do it! Where are you based? If all goes well, I already have a few others who have said they will travel here for the same garage to do the same update on their facelift! I am based bet...

Hi Tom, congrats on a fabulous looking Rocco. I like you have just done the facelift conversion on the rear of my R. However the VW boot release handle doesn't work. Is it supposed to or are there modifications needed? Any help or advice you can offer would be appreciated. Sent from my m8 using Tap...

Re: Bagged Scirocco from Finland / / Facelift
Thanks for the reply. I thought you were running 11jx19 Work Emitz? If work is needed to run 11j then I won't be going that wide! I now have my car on air ride, but still running 9.5jx19 wheels with 265/30/19 tyres. All wheels/tyres tuck under the arches without modification, due to the camber I'm ...

Re: Bagged Scirocco from Finland / / Facelift
Oh sorry i forgot to answer. But i wouldnt suggest putting 11" wheels to scirocco. I had troubles fitting 10.5" and couldnt fit 11" back. You need to do work with fuel lines if you try to run 11". And not changing the front bumper, imo pre facelift r is the best. :) And so i cha...
