Re: Nightmare engine probs - advice please!!!

I-plate Thanks for your comments... much appreciated. You are right, it is very unsafe and they are the grounds on which I am trying to reject it. For starters, they can't define at exactly what point the tank becomes 'too empty'. Is it going to be when I have my young niece in the front passenger s...

Re: Nightmare engine probs - advice please!!!

Tried changing the fuel filter? If it's a starvation issue shouldn't VW be looking at swapping out elements of the fuel system and running pressure tests at different tank levels. Not missing about with the plugs, coils or injectors. Yes mate.... all of the obvious bases have been covered. I apprec...

Re: Nightmare engine probs - advice please!!!

Changed plugs, coil packs, injectors.... all sorts mate. It's been quite a high profile fault so I think all the obvious bases have been covered.

Nightmare engine probs - advice please!!!

As some of you may know from my previous posts, I have been having major issues with my engine mis-firing, to the point where it has actually been very dangerous at times (loss of power whilst overtaking!). It has been in and out of the dealership 4 times with no success. I eventually contacted trad...

Re: Misty windscreen

I don't get condensation on the windscreen. That would annoy me in a new car. Does hint that there is excess moisture inside the car, have a sniff of your mats and see if they are holding dampness. I went for the rubber floormats as this is the most common place for damp to hide. Annoys me to death...

Re: Misty windscreen

I find its very misty when I 1st get in it in the mornings but once its gone (takes about 3-4 mins) I do tend to keep the fan switch on 1 most of the time as it does mist up a tiny bit when I am driving. Yup, that pretty much seems to be the same as mine. Takes a good while to demist unless I dry i...

Re: Misty windscreen

No mate, I whipped the BF straight off as soon as I started with problems. Same issue... lots of mis-firing, back-firing and loss of power under acceleration. Still no fault logged with the dyagnostics though. This is their last chance to fix it, but whilst it's there I thought i would raise the iss...

Misty windscreen

Along with all my other engine problems, rattles and everything else, I also have a gripe about the windscreen misting up. Does anyone else have this problem with the scirocco? Basically, if there is the slightest hint of moisture in the air, my windscreen is always completely misted up on the insid...

Door plate

Am not going to use the forum to have another moan about my STILL misfiring R (will do that later). I have another query for now. I just noticed that the plate on the inside of the door pillar, states that my R has 230PS. See pic attached. Does anyone else's have the same info, or can any one explai...

Re: Quick Bluefin / technical question...

The garage did over 100miles in my Golf once. I went ape shit and got £50 in M&S Vouchers and the fuel back.[/quote] Cheers mate. ON that basis I think I will give them a call. I know they had to take it on a few runs to try and sort the problem but I think 100 miles is a bit excessive! No doubt...

Re: Quick Bluefin / technical question...

RW1 - cheers for the advice, I will check that out over the weekend. 182_blue - Its not happening all the time but I did suspect a coil pack and thats what they came back. They havent replaced i though. What I AM slightly annoyed at, is that when I collected my car yesterday they'd used half a tank ...

Re: Quick Bluefin / technical question...

I think you should verify that the BF isnt an issue and spring for the stage 1. I know you've been wanting to for ages :)

Re: Quick Bluefin / technical question...

Well I know you're all gagging to know the findings, and impressivley (for me) they are exactly as i suggested to the technician this morning. I told him that it felt like a mis-fire perhaps due to a dodgy coil pack, and sure enough they managed to located a stored fault which showed exactly that. O...

Re: Quick Bluefin / technical question...

Thanks for the replies, you have put my mind at rest!!! I did vaguely remember reading somewhere that the BF doesnt alter the flash on the R. Chungster - I am really hoping its not the BF and would be surprised if it was. I've had it on 3 cars now and it's always been perfect. I'm hoping this fault ...

Quick Bluefin / technical question...

My R has just gone into the local VW garage this morning to investigate a fault which I have with the engine. Annoyingly the fault isnt generating any warning lights or anything so the technician said it might be hard to find. The actual fault is a juddering / flat-spotting during hard accelearion a...
