It's why it's a Scirocco and not a Cayman R.
And I thought my mileage was low @7k over three years since new.

Re: Another question from the annoying newbie

I thought a new tool foam might be needed when I tried to fit everything in the boot with my full size spare. I'll defiantly take the parts off your hands when you are ready. Shame VW don't do something for the Roc's.

Re: Another question from the annoying newbie

Thanks for the info, might be well interested in the parts when you get the Roc. Just looked them up on ETKA, it lists a different lock cover plastic trim panel to go with the foams, did you have to get that as well or did the standard space saver trim work OK?

Re: Another question from the annoying newbie

Sootchucker - Would you happen to have a part number for the Golf boot foam? - Thanks.

Re: How long to get spare parts?

"will a jubilee clip or crimp ring do the same job better?" Unfortunately not. It's the large plastic outer ring that the gaiter is stapled to, it holds the leather in tension to enable it to be clipped to the inner part of the surround. They have to get the complete assembly, outer surrou...

Re: How long to get spare parts?

Thanks RW1. I'll get back to the dealer and give a couple of others a call as well. When they damaged a seat in my EOS it took six months to get a new seat leather and fit it.

How long to get spare parts?

When I took delivery of my Scirocco in April, the DSG shift gaiter was damaged. The plastic ring that it's secured to had broken allowing the gaiter to fall down into the well. I was told it would be replaced very quickly. As you can imagine it wasn’t. I’ve done a temporary repair with a small metal...

Re: New Black Roc

Just to let you know, the ramps might not be suitable if you have lowered the suspension as there is only about 25mm clearance at the bottom of the spoiler to roll on and off.

Have a look at CJ Autos web site http://www.cjautos.site90.net/newprod.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for more info. They do quite a few lifting products.

Re: New Black Roc

not a retired getaway driver from the 60s/70s by any chance given the other car in the shot ;) Well I've had it since 1976, it used to have the number plate 1 MOB before I bought it and came from East London. I think if they tried to do a getaway it it they would have been caught very quickly as it...

New Black Roc

The Roc arrived home last week (build week 13) but this is the first chance to upload any details. First job was to fit flaps and check underneath to see if it was all screwed together OK. Going to give it a good run on Sunday up to Stanford Hall VW show. Only faults on delivery were the gear gaiter...
