Looks like they all do it. Looked at cars on ebay & Autotrader before I got my Scirocco, and nearly all of them had black exhausts. You'd have thought the sellers might have cleaned them! Looks like the only thing missing from the standard kit is the metal hook tool for removing wheel nut covers; now ordered.

Believe it or not, I used a combination of Brillo pads, bug/sap cleaner, Solvol, and LOTS of elbow grease.

Pitting was probably caused by not being cleaned by previous owners of my car. It was a good job I cleaned them as carbon/crap had blocked the drain holes in the underside of the tips.

Only had my car a week, but something that drives me mad had to be sorted. Nearly every Scirocco for sale online has dirty exhaust tips, like they've never been cleaned in the cars life. Just checking the tools that came with my car, and noticed there are spaces in the polystyrene for extra tools. Any ideas what is missing from the standard kit please?

Collected my new toy today. Driving home took a while to get used to it, but all ok in the end.

It's a 2010 2.0 TSI GT Exclusive edition, with black/cornsilk seats. Previous owner had fitted a Kenwood DNX521DAB, so a lot more to learn about as well as the car!
