Re: Anyone put an exhaust on a 140 TDi ?
I had replaced the back box with a straight pipe into two stainless steel tips. Kinda like the 170 but slightly bigger diameter and slash cut. Looked much better than standard. Sounded almost exactly the same except for when the DPF regen was running. Then you could hear a lot of turbo noise through...

Re: Buying a used scirocco
I can't comment on the engine as I had a diesel but 60k doesn't scratch the surface on the Scirocco as long as its been looked after. Mine still felt as tight as the day I got it after 70k in three years

My old Scirocco is being sold
Hi All, I traded in my Scirocco a couple of weeks ago and it is now being sold by the dealer on their forecourt so thought I would post up some info in case a prospective buyer is browsing this forum. The dealer is Volkspeed Car Sales in Ashtead, Surrey and if you look on their website you will see ...

Re: Amping OEM speakers
I have recently added a small powered subwoofer under the passenger seat (Pioneer TS-WX11A) It fits perfectly retaining the OEM look and can wire very quickly into the standard loom with no need to run power cables to the battery as the amp is a very efficient class D amp. It really adds some depth ...

Re: DSG TDI Juddering
My car does this but I have a manual that has been remapped and it only appeared after the remap (or at least that's when I noticed it). I just change down as my revs are just under 1k when it happens anyway. in your case if its not mapped, take it back to VW. It could be a fault with the DSG

Re: Audio upgrade, an alternative to Dynaudio.
As long as the speaker cone has enough room to travel at full whack there are no issues with covering it or filling your boot with luggage. The only thing I would say is that depending on what you put in your boot will depend on the sound from the sub, but this is only for extreme cases (i.e if you ...

Re: Amping OEM speakers
Think you'll find the standard sound system is very good, unless you like driving around in a baseball cap with all the windows down and meeting up with chavs at Mcdonalds... Go into a dealers and turn up the sound and see (or hear) for yourself. Adding an amp has more purpose than just turning you...

Re: problem with dsg
My brother had a problem with his DSG box on an R32. It was very tempremental so he insisted that the dealer keep hold of the car (giving him a courtesy car in return of course) for a few days until they experienced the problem. Sure enough over a weekend when the branch manager was taking it for a ...

Re: Audio upgrade, an alternative to Dynaudio.
Thanks for posting this in such detail. I am finding it to be extremely helpful as I am planning to install some woofers under my front seat(s) and the guide to running the power cable and mounting under the seat etc. is very useful. Let me know how tricky it is running power to the amps under the c...

Re: Audio upgrade, an alternative to Dynaudio.
That looks great. Plenty of space to mount your sub amp in the wheel well too by the looks of it. Can't wait to see the finished results.

Re: Audio upgrade, an alternative to Dynaudio.
Nice work, I am a fan of car audio but have yet to do anything to the 'roc. I'm intrigued to see how this progresses. I have a question for you - I see you opted for 3 way comps up front. Where are you planning to install the mids as the current setup is two way? Also, the mounting brackets for the ...

Re: CD Quality
The best sound quality is only achievable with an ipod and files in a loslless format. this format. Not exactly true. When playing through an ipod in the roc the sound quality is dependent on a number of things including the DAC within the ipod. Ipods are well known to have poor quality DACs (have ...

Re: New audio system with a sub
Great install. I'm looking to add a sub to give it a bit more depth to the sound. Don't have Dynaudio. May uprate comps at a later date depending on how the addition of just a sub sounds. Was thinking of a pre-amped under seat jobby. Couple of questions for you: What have you done with reagrds to th...
