Re: Turbo replaced with new now epc comes on and no boost
So , bit of an update. It appears that the throttle body and turbo actuator are not communicating properly hence the EPC light. Some coding today produced a very stepped, stuttery response form the actuator. The turbo supplier have agreed to supply a replacement turbo after some round robin arguing ...

Re: Turbo replaced with new now epc comes on and no boost
Yeah, will do. the car was running fine until I did the overtake to beat all overtakes and when the teurbo hit full boost it went pop, the car drove and bizarrely the EPC didnt come on as I assume the modules were still communicating despite there being no boost due to the broken shaft. I've had a q...

Re: Turbo replaced with new now epc comes on and no boost
Thanks for that. They use master tech which is essentially VAG's diagnostics for non VAG garages, costs them quite a bit for the licence and the MT people link directly into the diagnostics. apparently they got the garage to adjust some settings but it hasn't worked. Its going back in on Tuesday but...

Turbo replaced with new now epc comes on and no boost
Hi, my car is 2016 GTS 2.0 CULC engine (220ps). Turbo turbine shaft broke so had new Garrett turbo fitted by garage and now epc light comes on and she's not boosting properly. Turn off and start again and light goes out but comes on again as soon as you want to accelerate. The cruise control indicat...

Re: 09 2.0tsi misfire whilst driving. Now won't start.
I've been messing about with cars and bikes for 40+ years and always remember my dad's advice (he was a flight engineer in the RAF when they still had piston engine aircraft as well as early jets) check the simple stuff first. Get it on a code reader as it could be as simple as a cam or crank positi...

Re: central locking strange issue- drivers door
That's the type of module, just make sure you have the correct part number as there are usually slight changes as the models progress through their life span.
This is the parts site I use;

Re: central locking strange issue- drivers door
It will be the door lock module. They have a metric sh*t ton of micro switches inside. All VW's since Golf 4 used them and they always cause issues when older.

Re: major issue clouds of smoke, burning oil, limp mode help
Sounds very like the Turbo oil seal has karked! Was the new turbo OE or some turbine cartridge rebuild / cheap Turbo off evilbay? Has the 'garage' put a code reader on it, pulled the exhaust off the turbo etc. Throwing that much oil through the exhaust will kill the cat and the DPF (if fitted) and i...

Re: MFD shows boot open when shut
There is a micro switch within the handle mechanism itself.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Enabled a number of VCDS functions, most important of which was XDS. Also changed some lighting options as well as headlight wash frequency for the winter.
Not entirely sure if they are all working as its a gash OBD lead but we'll see. The XDS enabling was worth the £40 quid tbh.
