Spoke to dealer direct this morning. He confirmed my wk48 2.0tdi GT had been built and is currently dockside in portugal awaiting shipment. Scheduled for Wednesday, he also said that there are ships leaving weekly and that they are coming direct into sheerness again, avoiding the tim consuming stop...

I have learnt over the years that unnecessary options are only useful for the next owner ie you are paying all the extra now for someone to appreciate in 3 years. Don't think so - my car now in last stage of build (wk48) has RCD510 and dynaudio specced. Hope it will work OK when delivered.

I have a suspicion that the issue is still the DSG gearbox on the 170 TDi rather than the radio - know my dealer has at least 3 unconfirmed with that spec. Im meant to be built this week (47) and just went for the standard RCD510. Seems like the dealers dont have any more info to give anyone though...

From your info you should be getting your car tomorrow - can you confirm you have got it and it is fitted with RCD510?

When did you place your order and what is your build week? It is possible that RCD510 supply problems (if any) are impacting later orders.

Can't remember where I read it but, someone said to keep things going why don't they just replace with the RNS310 (which is what we heard first) and when the RCD510 is fixed you have the option to go back to your dealership and get it replaced. Just spoke to the salesman who kept me informed on a weekly basis whilst mine was on order, He's says there’s no known fault for the RNS 510 but he did e-mail this which has no impact on the Scirocco.
