Re: Did the R ever come with 17" wheels?
Thanks all - I was needing to replace a cracked 19" Talladega and the garage had said that they could source one for about £500 (new). When it turned up, it was a 17" wheel and the garage told me my car originally came with 17s. I didn't think the R originally came with 17s, just 18s or 19...

Re: Did the R ever come with 17" wheels?
Thanks very much kentech - that's what I thought but I found a 19" Talladega on the volkswagen.com site which had a different part number so got slightly unsure.

Re: Did the R ever come with 17" wheels?
Thanks Phil - Does anyone know which part number I'm looking for for the 19" please (should be a Talladega from the 2010 model)?

Re: Cracked Alloy - Sourcing another one - 19" Talladega
Tried TPS and they couldn't source one unfortunately. Is it worth looking at getting it welded or just bite the bullet and pay for the new one?

Cracked Alloy - Sourcing another one - 19" Talladega

Just taken my car in for it's MOT and the garage has failed it on a cracked nearside front alloy - 19" Talledega - and I've been quoted £423+VAT
Where's the best place to source a replacement please? Obviously needs to be in decent condition - anyone got a spare?

Re: Servicing - South West London
Thanks for the reply - hadn't seen them. Was looking at Mastertechs in Morden. Unfortunately the last owner decided that she'd get the last service done by a friend at Halfords so, whilst I'm not concerned that it wasn't done properly because it was done by a friend, I don't think there's much benef...

Servicing - South West London
I bought my 2010 R in December and it's due an MOT at the end of this month so I'll probably get it serviced at the same time. Any recommendations for servicing in South West London (I'm in Putney) please? Also, since this is my first service - any precautionary items I should ask them to do?

Haha - I think that's just a standard Autotrader input isn't it, rather than owner's actual figures? I'm hoping 30+ on a run is achievable but I only do 3-5k per year so fuel won't be a massive expense3t3p wrote:looks well cared for had cam and pump done mileage good.
MPG average is LOL though

Going to look at this on Friday - anyone here know the car? Previously been FE55RGE and 430VJO :) Good price? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201711071025594?sort=price-asc&advertising-location=at_cars&model=SCIROCCO&radius=1500&aggregatedTrim=R&postcode=sw152bl&am...

Never seen a R on those wheels - were they an option or just off a 'lesser' model?

Re: Scirocco R - pre-purchase check
Won't be stretching to the facelift, thinking 2010-2012 with c.50-60k miles, probably manual but possibly DSG (unless someone puts me off?). Everything else I want is fairly standard - leather, heated seats, parking sensors, pano roof, xenons

Scirocco R - pre-purchase check
First post :) I'm currently looking at getting a Scirocco R as a vaguely sensible car (my last car was a Lotus Elise which wasn't entirely practical for a cyclist needing to carry a bike to events :( ). I think I've nailed down the options I'm looking for and now doing my research regarding common f...
