Will now answer my own question after a little tinkering... The HTC Hero works perfectly with the RCD 510! What a phone, what a car!!

Can I 'mount' my HTC Hero with the RCD 510? Haven't really had a real good go at trying yet. Would like to use it as a media (music) source...

Tried turing autolock off, but still having the same problems. Can't select albums, playlists etc. Screen going back to 'play' screen. Any more ideas?

I'm using a USB now as well. Runs far quicker. Just would be good to use iPod for playlists etc. Will try that autolock feature, cheers.

More probs now, even tho it plays fine. the rcd 510 doesn't allow me to select albums/playlists etc the majority of the time. It'll just return back to the main 'play' screen. I tried a mates iPod classic which worked correctly straight away. Is there something I can change in the settings? Don't fa...

Collected yesterday. I've just come back from saying 'oi, you missed the ipod cable out!'. Sales rep apologised, and told me that he had learned a lesson!! All is now well, ipod cable in car and working perfectly.

i was only given the lead which accepts a usb. so i guess i need to go back to the dealership tmw? and the ipod lead should definitely be included free of charge?

Also, do i need the vw ipod cable? I was given a mdi to usb lead.
The salesman said i need to plug the white lead which connects the ipod to computer into the mdi lead. Yet, device was not recognised.

Does this version link up with the MDi and RCD 510? Plugged it in briefly today but no joy. Is it possible to revert to the original version 2 software?

More or less 8 weeks to the day - in fact 7 weeks 6 days from order to pick up. Build week 40 if i remember correctly. Amazed at how quickly its taken.

I'm guessing its because I cancelled the extras! cant believe how quickly its turned up, especially compared to some of the horror stories on here!

Received phone call to say my Scirocco has arrived in the dealership and should be ready by Tuesday next week. Thats around 7 weeks from order to delivery! Quality!

My car is due to be built next week. What can I expect from now on?
Does the dealer confirm the build and give an accurate delivery date or is it just wait and see?

No, but I guess PT organise their finance through Bridgend. Car has been ordered by PT Sinclairs.
