Re: Unable to Start Engine and MFD Error Messages

Hi 2207,
I tried that. I have a GB40 1000A NOCO Jump Starter kit, but it made no difference. I'm not convinced it's the battery. Anyway, it's with VW now and in the workshop, so will be interesting to see what's up. I'll let you know.

Cheers J

Re: Unable to Start Engine and MFD Error Messages

I don't think it would have anything to do with the lights, as they would have switched themselves off automatically when you turned off the engine - assuming that you didn't sit there for 10 minutes with the ignition on unnecessarily or the engine running. I'm sure it'll be an easy fix, but perhap...

Re: Unable to Start Engine and MFD Error Messages

I have the exact same issue since yesterday. Was listening to music for a few hours while changing the tail lights and suddenly while playing around with the navi audio settings the sound started to crack and fade away. Battery is 2 weeks old, when I try to start now only thing I hear is a really f...

Unable to Start Engine and MFD Error Messages

Yesterday evening I went for a drive with a mate. We stopped for about ten minutes to watch distant firework display whilst sitting in the Rocco. During that time I forgot to turn my lights off. When I went to start the ignition there was a clicking sound and on the MFD a error message was displayed...

Re: Question about DRLs on the newer Mk3 Scirocco

Thanks 2207 and davidscirocco, for your reply’s. David the indicator lights don’t turn on with the headlights. I’ve tried everything and they only indicate :( As 2207 said the DRLs are built into the headlights. It would have been great if VW allowed for the indicator lights to have a multifunction ...

Re: Question about DRLs on the newer Mk3 Scirocco

Thank you mikejtaylor96 and Deagol for your replies. I cannot find any way to switch them on as DRLs. Although they look clear from the front, they illuminate orange when they indicate. However, I cannot find any way at all to get them to illuminate as DRLs. Perhaps they are only indicators. Any fur...

Re: To Garage or Not To Garage

Hi Paradox1, I agree with you totally about driving it and enjoying it. It’s a lovely car and spends too much time stored away. I’ve started using it more. Interesting you should mention the £3 car wash. I’ve been using the jet wash at my local Fuel garage and it only cost £2 for the basic one. I ne...

Re: To Garage or Not To Garage

Hi Kev, Thanks for your reply. It’s reassuring to hear from your experience that you’ve not garaged a car for that long a period with no rust or paint damage. You’re right cars these days are far more weather resistant. Like you whenever I go to a supermarket or anywhere where I need to use a car pa...

Re: To Garage or Not To Garage

Thanks Roy_01 for your reply. You made some interesting points. Here in the U.K. parking spaces are very narrow and that’s something I’m always careful about when parking my car. Fortunately the private residents car park have wide parking bays and there is no risk of someone opening their door and ...

To Garage or Not To Garage

I've had my Scirocco R about 8 months now from brand new and am loving it. My car is a big investment for me and for this reason I decided to rent a garage to keep it in. Although I have a private residents car park, I have no garage of my own. Anyway, I am now seriously considering giving up the ga...

Re: What Spacers??

Hey guys, Not been on here for a while. Just wanted to say a really big thank you for your feedback and photos. You've been very helpful. I've decided to put this on the back burner for a while or at least until my VW Warranty expires. The reason for this is that recently I had to speak with the aft...

Re: What Spacers??

Hi Paradox1, Thanks for your reply, that's very helpful. I did see JJC on ebay and wondered which ones. So reading your reply is very helpful. I've seen that DPM do H&R's 15mm hubcentric, they are £100 a pair. Alternatively they also sell FKs for £65 a pair: FK 15MM (30MM PER AXLE) HUBCENTRIC WH...

What Spacers??

Hi all, I’m going to be getting my new Scirocco R lowered soon with H & R 35mm springs as recommended and tried and tested in a friends Scirocco. I would like to add some Spacers and wondered what people would recommend? I’ve been recommended to get Hubcentric spacers, but can anyone tell me a b...
