Re: Is there going to be a Scirocco replacement?
Well, I drove a BMW M240i and have decided to buy one, get it next Friday from dealer stock. I couldn't sink a load of money into another Scirocco as I've had 2,of the MK 3 and I know if I bought one that after an hour it would feel similar to the others so I've bitten the bullet and will be leaving...

R MPG
Thinking of chopping in my 2 lt TSI for an R.
Generally with the mixed driving I do I'm getting 34-36 out of the TSI, and have it 39/40 on a long run at 70.
What would I get out of one of the newer 280 bhp R's?

Re: Is there going to be a Scirocco replacement?
Tony, You and I seem to be in the same boat! I really don't know what to do either. Diesel is a complete no-no on the low miles I do and the GTS doesn't ring my bell either. I think I'll probably end up with an R because there just isn't anything else on the market that comes close to the Scirocco....

Re: Is there going to be a Scirocco replacement?
I wonder as they finally run out the Scirocco whether they will bring out a storm version, I had one of the original storms.........that was a cracking car as well Which Storm did you have as there have been 2, MK1 & MK2 both beautiful cars. There was also a Corrado Storm too if my memory serve...

Re: Is there going to be a Scirocco replacement?
Difficult to know what to do, there is nothing on the market that appeals to me, I've had my Scirocco from new but is now 4.5yrs old, coming up to 50k, getting to the point where I either change or run into the ground, I've had a few Alfa's in the past and they haven't anything, and BMW's are more c...

Re: Is there going to be a Scirocco replacement?
I am buying a car for myself, but I like a car that is a bit of a looker, Golf GTI is a great car but nothing special from the outside.

Re: Is there going to be a Scirocco replacement?
Would like an R but fuel cost would be an issue, not a direction I want to take.
Have thought about the Golf GTI....................but thety don't look special enough, just another Golf with fancy wheels to the average person

Is there going to be a Scirocco replacement?
I'm looking to change my Scirocco, its coming up to 4.5 years old which for me is an old car, it has been a cracking car hence why I have kept it so long and I'm seriously struggling to know what to replace it with as there isn't anything on the market that appeals to me, like my coupes. I have cons...

Drivers side headlight is wobbling about, looks like the adjuster has come away from the light, any idea best way to fix this?

Sorted, noise at the rear has gone, changed the rear shocks and the noise was still there, changed the front drivers side shock and noise has disappeared.

Re: Scirocco knocking
Well car has been in the dealers again this week for two days and they haven't found anything, they say that they have lubricated bushes but the noise was back within 10 miles.
Next thing they are going to try is to change the shock absorber

Re: Scirocco knocking
I don't think it is the fuel line as it is a loud knock and only when the car is unsettled, there is no 5 taps a second

Scirocco knocking
My Scirocco has developed a loud knocking which I and everyone that has been in the car apart from a VW Mastertech thinks is from the rear drivers side. I've had the car 4 years and never had a problem and now have the VW extended warranty. I've been under the car and can't find or feel anything loo...

Re: Scirocco R or 2.0 TSI?
I've had a 2TSI DSG for 2 years, 3 months ago I looked at chopping it in for an R. Test drove the R DSG, which was a bit quicker but didn't feel massively quicker than my own car and certainly not worth my car and the several £k they wanted. To be honest I found the R to be a disappointment, but tha...
