Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Only had the car a month so updated the timing chain tensioner to the latest revision, had a de coke carried out (loads of carbon buildup) and a new injector! Now i am happy with how it is running I can look at doing some little mods!

Re: 60 plate with RNS510
You can definitely retrofit it, you need a stand alone unit for the RNS though, it does not sit on the dash and is fully integrated. Aside from this you can get a Dension bluetooth unit, works the same as OEM! :) I'm no expert but have been looking into this myself lately (i have a friend who insta...

2.0tsi Chain?
Hi, Been doing some research online and can't locate a solid yes or no. I understand that it is a good idea to replace the timing chain / tensioner on a 2.0tsi pre 2012 for an updated 2012 revision tensioner, is this correct? There seem to be a lot of people saying definitely get it done on a mk6 go...

Re: Swirl Marks
You can easily spend 25-30 hours doing a 2 or 3 stage correction especially on some cars with harder paint types. Generally around £250 is around the right money for detailing. Not for 25-30 hours work it isn't. You'd be lucky to get single stage work for £250. Couldnt complain if it was for 25-30 ...

Re: Swirl Marks
As I know I won't get a chance to do this for about 3 weeks I had a little bash at getting the worst scratches out on Friday! Pretty happy with the results considering I did it by hand in about an hour! [emoji4][emoji106]I know it's not fantastic but think I have done well considering it was my firs...

Re: Carbon buildup issues?
Ok, checked the PCV by trying to blow through it, and i cant, which makes me think the PCV is operating as it should. I have removed the dipstick / filler cap with ease (believe it should be hard to remove cap if PCV is faulty), and yes, there is a very slight change with them removed. Still having ...

Re: Carbon buildup issues?
Most TFSI and TSI have a rough idle. Can be a million things. I'd check the PCV system first, and use 99 fuel if you're not already. Walnut blasting is an option but it's around £300 at a specialist. You don't really lose much power on the turbocharged engines so up to you if it's worth the cost or...

Re: Carbon buildup issues?
Xjay, Thanks, I have done a little research - I just felt it and naturally started panicking! I have since realized that most have a rough idle like you said. I am trying to locate a TSI / TFSI locally I can take for a test drive and see how it feels! I have only had the car a week - I think I will ...

Carbon buildup issues?
Quick question! Car has a very slight rough idle. Though revs are staying steady! Spark plugs and a coil have been replaced! Initially thought it may be the DMF but have been advised that it may be sure to carbon buildup! Anyone able to offer any advice? Would a walnut blast solve this issue? Anythi...

Re: Bluetooth Retrofit / MFD?
Done some more research, found a company in redditch which will swap the clocks for £240, which includes the clocks themselves. Not as bad as everywhere else I have looked. May just stick with my parrot kit for now *sigh* Then get the clusters fitted further down the line! At least I know it is poss...

Bluetooth Retrofit / MFD?
Hi! Hope someone Is able to help. I have run a search on various forums trying to find information on retrofitting bluetooth to my Scirocco. I am just about to (hopefully) upgrade to a RNS510 headunit, I understand this headunit works with bluetooth no issues. The concern I have is my MFD, this is t...
