So, the dealer says you don't need to sit before shutting the engine off...these days modern turbo engines can cool themselves down...and I don't see anything in the handbook about it. yes, the noise is there whether the climate control is on or not. I also hear a slight humming noise as if there is some sort of electrical pump running..both noises stop at the same time after 3-4 minutes.

Think it might be the after-run coolant pump...supposed to prevent damage to the turbo bearings after shut off.

slight engine hiss
After each journey, when I turn the engine off I can hear a faint hissing if I pop the bonnet or stick my head down near either of the front wheel arches. both, first time the car had only been running a couple of minutes and the other 5-6 times it's been warm and been running for at least 20 miles.

engine not always idling correctly
So, 5 times in the last 3 days I've come to a stop at traffic lights/junction and the revs haven't dropped back to the normal 900 rpm..they drop to about 1100/1200....only happens occassionally and if I move off, then it's fine at the next junction.. Car has only done 200 miles...and it's the 2.0 TS...
