Thinking of selling...
I'm thinking of selling my 2010 1.4TSI DSG Scirocco, its done around 74,000 miles however i had a complete engine rebuild at around 60,000 miles as it got turned to spanners by the chain How does a car usually sell after a full engine rebuild? It was done at Halfords with all the paper work etc. and...

Re: ECU issue
Hero’s Had all sorts going through my head on what the issue could be! Awful for the car to act like that on a flat battery I’m sure cowboy garages have had a couple of paydays from this Cheers fellas jumped the battery and took it for a long drive will see how it gets on before replacing as I had t...

Vents stink!
My vents smell like arse unless i have a/c on for any temperature I've used the aircon cleaner from Halfords previously however this doesn't really get rid of the smell fully it just makes it smell better for a short period. The smell is really bad if its cold coming through the dash vent or front f...

Re: Just had a rebuilt engine
Pretty much new all over, pistons, rings etc.
Luckily I get some staff discount through a family member for the labour so I was paying 25hr labour instead of 75 at Halfords, every cloud!

Re: 1.4 Tsi nightmare
I have had a 10 plate 1.4tsi for over 2.5 years now and I've had the coil packs go twice during its time and this weekend the chain has jumped so is looking like a rebuild also!!! Absolutely love the car but reading about how common these problems are it is ridiculous! I don't think I will get a VW ...

Re: Timing chain
Had it out today but they are struggling getting it out, is there a bolt which needs to be removed or something which they are saying they don't have the tool for?

Re: Timing chain
Finally got round to getting the car on the ramp and having a look to locate the sensor.
Looks a pain to get to underneath but should be getting it swapped out next week

Re: Timing chain
I don't think it will be a faulty sensor as the car actually judders when setting off
But then again, some days it is fine and drives perfect
Family member works at a garage so they are pricing it up for me
