Re: Is my oil temperature sensor faulty?

Update - Problem Solved! So I decided to buy a cheap version of the sensor on eBay. Obviously it didn't work. We ran some diagnostics on the sensor and it was reading something but for some reason the car just wasn't accepting the part. (The eBay listing showed the same replacement part number but n...

Re: Is my oil temperature sensor faulty?

So today we took the car up on the lift to have a look at the sensor. The sensor number is, 1J0907660C rather than F. I double checked the engine code and it shows 'CBD' which I assume is the same CBDB as I quoted before? The car was left to idle on the lift with the bonnet open and the oil temperat...

Re: Why have these wires been cut...? (Interior mirror)

I'm not sure on the voltage that goes into the interior mirror but I suppose if it was great enough you could use the wire to power a dash cam. Surely you would just tap into the wire though to do that instead of cutting it? My best guess for this would be that the rain sensor has been faulty and so...

Re: Is my oil temperature sensor faulty?

Cheers mate! I was thinking it may be combined inside that unit.

The model is a 2009 GT TDI 140 (I think this is a CBDB?)

Also I don't suppose if the temperature spiked up massively that it could trigger an engine warning and limp home mode to be activated?

Is my oil temperature sensor faulty? - SOLVED

I've recently noticed that the oil temperature shown on the MFD seems to be a little erratic. The temperature will work it's way up to around 100-110 and then it can spike upwards. Sometimes it'll jump to 130 (I saw a 140 spike today too!) and then a second later back down to 110. The average temper...

Re: Why have these wires been cut...? (Interior mirror)

Update I managed to find a breaker who was willing to sell the mirror, rain sensor and part wiring look for the mirror (and sensor). (It's very difficult to find someone who is willing to cut into a wiring loom for you) Fitted these and everything seems to be working fine now. Still have no idea wh...

Re: Why have these wires been cut...? (Interior mirror)

It just doesn't make much sense. Does anything else happen within the reading light unit? Are the cabin motion sensors in there? I wonder if someone has been trying to do something with that...

Re: Why have these wires been cut...? (Interior mirror)

I hadn't thought of that actually, could be a potential reason! I'm just hoping that if/when I source the new bits to put it back to how it should be, that there aren't any other problems that become apparent. (Showing the real reason why the wires were cut). I might just be over thinking it though....

Why have these wires been cut...? (Interior mirror)

Hi guys, I've recently bought a 2009 Scirocco GT TDI. I noticed that the interior auto dimming mirror wasn't working and on looking at the back of the mirror, it quickly became apparent why. The wire/put had been completely removed from the mirror. (Standard auto dimming mirror). The rain sensor als...
