Re: New facelift order

I noticed that DrivetheDeal offers £5000 off (including this £1500 deposit), that's 15-18% off depending on spec.

How is the new 184PS diesel? I only had one diesel before, Mercedes OM651 engine, 204PS but I hated the noise. However I liked the range hence the thought of getting Scirocco diesel.

Re: New facelift order

What is the lead time for new fl Scirocco? Is there difference between diesel or petrol lead time? I'm thinking about getting rid of my current car and ordering Scirocco again.

Also what's the minimal period you have to keep finance to get dealer contribution and service plan?

Re: 2 Facelift Roccos on eBay UK

I may have to rethink the idea of getting new one. Have some time so maybe it will grow on me, but right now, I don't like it.

I was getting a lot of attention when my car was new. Viper Green was a bit shocking colour back then.

Re: replace my Scirocco ?

If car is too early you can convince dealer/leasing company to deliver it to you a little bit later. I used rented car for a few weeks between selling scirocco and getting leased car. But next time I will try to synchronise changing cars.

Re: replace my Scirocco ?

Just occurred to me. Is this a problem with lease cars (I've never had one) that as soon as the 2 or 3 year lease is up you've got to hand in the keys and try and arrange for a replacement car to follow on straight after? If so how do you cope with cars like the Roc which have a long lead in time? ...

Re: replace my Scirocco ?

I swapped Scirocco for SLK and I can't wait when I get rid of SLK and get another Scirocco. I looked to replace my TSI 2.0 with Scirocco TDI but leasing deals were much more expensive than on SLK diesel. I think Scirocco is nice, sporty and very practical and it's difficult to find good replacement....

If you don't like reg plate I'll be happy to buy it back.

Enjoy the car :)

Re: Driving in Europe

I will see if the fine is automatic. I drove around Potsdam and Berlin last year and this year and didn't get any fine. Now I know what these green stickers on windscreens were.

Re: Driving in Europe

I didn't know these Low Emissions Zones are in almost all big cities. I knew there's one in Hannover because when I discovered it, it was too late to get a sticker/permit and I was arriving at 4am and leaving at 8am so couldn't get the sticker anywhere anyway. Never got ticket. I've been to Berlin a...

Re: Driving in Europe

Another idea is to avoid France all together. Could driving thru Belgium and / or the Netherlands be an option? If you drive from UK it might be a little bit tricky. Calais and Dunkirk are both in France but it's only 1h driving through France, assuming you go east. Unless someone takes ferry to Ho...

Here's my mpg, all recorded based on fuelling it, not from computer. Unfortunately this website shows it in liters when you're not logged in. But average mpg for 32K miles was 8.6l/100km which is around 32mpg. A lot of driving on motorways. http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/detail/406196.html" oncl...

Re: Sold my Viper Green s13cco.

I've got my SLK now but I'm not happy with it. Sound of diesel engine drives me crazy every day. And now I'm doing only 1000 miles per month so I don't really need a diesel any more. It's quite powerful, fast and fuel savvy but ... I just can't live with the noise. I'm missing Scirocco and thinking ...

Re: Running costs of my Rocco

I did 34698 miles in almost 3 years and in my case total cost with depreciation, financing, insurance, service, petrol and all other associated cost was: £0.78 per mile 5920.20 spent on petrol. 3 years ago I saved following information: "What Car quotes the overall 3 year running costs as: 1.4 ...

Re: Can you use PCP deal to your advantage

Hi all I am looking to buy a gt tdi blue motion and have managed to get the local dealer down to £23,500 (includes paint upgrade) - not sure if thats considered a good deal? I know a personal loan is a better deal than PCP but the PCP offer includes £1,000 deposit contribution and 3 years servicing...

Re: Insuring the Rocco

What is interesting, when I was with VW and change mileage from 6K to 12K price went down. The more average you are the lower the perceived risk. Yes, I thought the same. Unfortunately when I declared 30K miles it went up. Anyway this year renewal was much higher than competition offered, and VW di...

Re: Insuring the Rocco

Last two years I was insured in VW Insurance, which uses Allianz. I even renewed with them because price was competitive. But this year price increased and I had to find something new. I went through broker and bought insurance in Allianz again. Also adding extra 18K mileage taking it to 30K per ann...

Re: Realistic valuation

I wrote before that I was offered 12.5K for my Viper Green 2009. That was offer from Mercedes dealer as part exchange. Best quote I've got was from Skoda dealer - 13.2K but I didn't buy Skoda ... I sold the car to the trader who sold it to another one and now it's for sale at 15,450! 3K difference. ...

Re: Sold my Viper Green s13cco.

I updated my previous post with info that car is in Scotland. Got alert from Autotrader, had one for sciroccos and never cancelled it. And one morning my car showed up in the email :-) Ad says: "DEMO + 1 LADY OWNER FROM NEW" which is true. I bought it as ex-demo from VW dealer. When I sold...
