Re: EGR Circuit malfunction after emissions software update
Mines just been in for the recall today, will be keeping a keen eye on it. I've already told VW - my car is in perfect condition having just been fully inspected by them, and two other independant garages. If anything goes wrong in the next month or so I'll be dumping it on their lawn for them to f...

Re: EGR Circuit malfunction after emissions software update
Thanks we have done already but VW head office and the dealer have more or less told us the engine management light problem is unlikely to be connected with the emissions update and just a coincidence, however, I am of the opinion they need to prove to us it isn't, so we are currently stuck between ...

EGR Circuit malfunction after emissions software update
Hi Folks, Got this fault code soon after the emissions software update on 2.0Tdi manual, what do you think? P0403 is an OBD-II generic code that indicates that the engine control module (ECM) has detected the engine exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) circuit has malfunctioned. The ECM detected a short ...

Emission Control Light on after 'software update'
The warning light comes on intermittently after it went in for the emissions software update. Car was parked up on drive for a week after the update while on holiday, only started playing up after that, car drives fine. Phoned Johnsons Friday to report it but they haven't called me back :eyepop: Any...

Re: MK3 Headlamp adjuster motor debacle
FWIW, around Xmas time when I had more time to faff, I took the bulb out and gave the lens a good firm push from the bottom when the top made a 'clunk' as though fitting back into place. Both lamps appear to level evenly from switch in the cabin and the lens/beam has not dropped down again since. Wi...

Re: MK3 Headlamp adjuster motor debacle
Been advised to take dipped bulb out and get a bar in the hole and work it to pull reflector back onto ball of motor rod, easy peezy eh? Anyone else done this before?

Re: MK3 Headlamp adjuster motor debacle
After some further tinkering with the manual adjustment I am fearing I have pulled the motor level rod off the reflector, is this possible? and can I reattach it if I have by taking the take dipped bulb out and push motor/pull reflector. Don't want to make things any worse. Lights still work but dri...

Re: MK3 Headlamp adjuster motor debacle
Cheers Gaz, Yes both headlights go up and down via the dash switch, so hopefully (praying) nothing damaged. I did see the white head with the hex hole in on top of the adjuster housing, which I believe is the way to manually adjust the height so when Mrs Roc isn't about I will see what turning that ...

Re: Driver side heated seat issue
First thing I'd check for is a loose connection under the seat and on the switch maybe and/or any physical damage to seat itself, bottom line is a trip to the dealers won't be cheap so if nothing you can't diagnose or see yourself I'd try an independent garage and a recommended one as parts will pro...

MK3 Headlamp adjuster motor debacle
Hi Like the big oaf I am I have mistakenly tried to pull the motor adjuser out instead of the dipped bulb...mind you reading up on the web it seems a common mistake. Anyways I turned it this way, that way and pulled and pulled until nearly cutting my thumb to the bone when I thought hang on this doe...
