There are many different mcd ratings to go for, 280 450 or 650.... Which one did you choose? maybe you should try the 280 version

vw wont supply you the leds to mod your own unit, Andy-GTI is right, the only way to get the same leds easily is to strip them from another unit. Anyway, i think i got it pretty spot on with the red colour, the only thing possibly is they are still a llittle bright for some people and im working on...

Yes I thought that too.... the LEDS must be PLCC2.... and these leds are very easy to solder .... just remember to solder them in correct order +-

be careful! are you dismantling your own one? ill be interested to see the outcome Yes... my own one!!! As a result I was able to see... that this two blue screens uses the same leds as the red or yellow ones... So it could be quite easy to get those leds... since scirocco has plenty of red ones......

I'll try to disassemble the clima controler to see what kind of leds are inside....

My 2gb takes about as long as your 8gb to initialise and it is nowhere near full yet. Once initialised though it operates just as quick as yours. As you can see... my 2Gb SD card is NOT a standard one... It is Extreme III which is slightly faster.... Also...you have to keep everything in order insi...

When I went to test drive the scirocco, they didn't have a TDI, so they took me out in the Golf instead. The white display in the Golf would have suited the Scirocco so much better. When I mentioned this to the sales guy, he said the red display was intentional, to mark the Scirocco out as differen...

I know a local shop here in Greece that can solder different leds on any electronic device.... I used to go there to change the led colours on my old mobile phone

It is the water-pump..... it is completely normal..... you can hear it between 2200-2800rpm and only when you press hard the throttle
