Re: Faulty Passenger Side Electric Window - £500 to repair?

From my experience main dealers rates can vary from £80 to 100+ including the VAT up here. I would say it is neigh impossible to get anywhere close to the figure you quote. Mine you it is partly influenced by the oil industry up here, but that 80 is quoting Inverness and Dundee Audi also. Prices for...

Re: replace my Scirocco ?

Thought about the A5 but I've heard the user experience doesn't match its good looks. From experience not true if you go for a second hand S5 model, was really the only alternative option to not going for the Rocco R. Apart from its looks, the interior finish - leather sports seats etc - is superb,...

Aye, but you can save yourself a few pennies come service time by supplying your own oil....when you need 8.8l for an oil change that is quite a saving!

Here was me thinking it was April the 1st. You've really never came across leaves stuck in a similar place before?

Re: Passenger window loose...

I remember this happened to a Mk4 Polo we used to have, the metal part that holds the window in place sheered off the guide at one of the sides, but only found out by taking off the door panel. Thought it was the electric motor for a start. Just ended up sorting it diy as it was an older car.

Re: Fuel flap won't release

I had this same issue a few times, and yes I agree the manual is not very helpful as I was aware myself that there should be a pull cord but couldn't find out how to access it. Sounds a bit of a pain in the ar$e though,

Re: My Scirroco GT was broken into...

Interesting read, will be good to hear the outcome. I did see the big about BMW on Watchdog myself, but I think there was something more fundamentally flaud there as the engine imobiliser was also deactivated in that case allowing the car to be started.

Re: Advice needed please guys! :(

I would still go down the letter avenue first, what is the point in involving the cost of a solicitor before getting a letter set out as mentioned above?? What you have to remember is that the people who answer the phones are generally NOT the sameones answering letters, this will usually fall with ...

Re: Potential purchase, couple of questions.

I think I've seen that one actually. Looks nice. I just feel like as this is the most I have ever spent on a car should I buy form a VW dealer? Will I have more protection if something goes wrong? :/ I traded my 58 in to a non-VW dealer a couple of months back, not a thing wrong with it and that wa...

Re: Advice needed please guys! :(

I might have missed this, but rather than having continual conversations with the dealer that are going nowherw, have you tried actually writing to them stating all the facts and what you want to get out of this. Usually you will find companies are mucn more receptive to letters, and they are genera...

There should be no issue fitting the H&Rs, many people have fitted them and you don't need any additional work bat a 4 wheel alignment done.

They have a very nice web site that looks incredibly professional if that's anything to go on. What are you thinking of getting? The look of a website is not always something to go on these days unfortunately. However, a member across on the other forum (teejay) used them for a full Rieger and cust...

Re: Window shopping in car parks.

I always try (not always possible) to park with the drivers door next to an obstruction such as a supermarket trolley park Not so keen on that idea myself, I'd be too scared some muppet would come along with some out of control trolley. Have you seen some of there folk as they let go only to walk a...

I know I'm not across here as much as the forum across the road, but thought I might as well post this here too anyway, more for the reason if any newbies are looking for a cracking car than anything else. Well, after 3 brilliant years owning the Scirocco I'm afraid to say it is now gone....I'll mis...
