Re: Climate control switching itself off Auto

When you switch on the aircon, do the engine fans start on low speed? If not it is the engine cooling fans that have failed or the controller..... do not use the aircon.... you'll run the risk of burning out the aircon compressor. Re: Potential Refueling Issue?

Have this a lot at certain stations..... over sensitive 'tank full' pressure sensor. If put the nozzle at a slight angle rather than straight into the filler neck, it should be fine

Re: 1.4 TSI misfires.....

Maybe not related at all but these plugs came out of a Golf mk5 1.4 16v. This car is running on Tesco 95 all the time...... DSC04549.jpg The picture doesn't really show the bright yellow colour that well, but trust me it is very unusual and must be something to do with the additives being used. The ...

Re: And would you like a noise with that sir...

They are very very quiet, it's really only the tyre noise and a faint high pitch whine from the inverter drive that gives them away.

When the petrol kicks in it's a different matter, most of them sound like a bean can full of nails!

Really love the iPad, like others have said, can't see it replacing a desktop or laptop fully but hand for a bit of browsing or email.

As for games.... I already spend far too much time playing Angry Birds on my iPhone :D

Re: Confused about my servicing

Just want to add my 10p on LongLife servicing....... We've been seeing a lot of VAG cars with 70-80k on the clock with failed turbochargers and just out of warranty. You don't need to check the service settings, just have a look at the state of the oil coming out the sump. It's horrid :( (you can ch...

Re: So what does a Scirocco owner do for a living then?

Just over 15months ago I was a Control Systems Engineer, specialising in Dynamometer & Engine test cell equipment design.

Now a partner in a new automotive specialist company :vibes:

1.4 TSI misfires.....

Just thought it might be useful for you guys to hear our trials and tribulations with a 1.4TSI car recently. Mostly we've been watching on the sidelines whilst a dealer tries to find the problem but the car has just dropped out of warranty so it's time for us to work some magic! The car has had all ...
