I have seen a few of the face lift 2015 cars now, and they have a honey comb upper grill which nicely matches the bigger lower grill.. Has anyone had a look or tried fitting a 2015 upper grill to a pre facelift car? The shape looks right but I am more sure just how different they are,
Cheers

Re: What bulbs are people running?
Ring Ultima, they are what I run in all my cars that dont have OEM HIDs, you will not get a better bulb! (any that have blue filters applied massively cut down the light output, 50% drop is not un-common! the human eye perceives them to be brighter though due to the colour, but they aren't. Ultima h...

Re: No Cruise Control?
Pre 10MY it's cheap, replace left stalk, re code job done. Post 10MY (white dials) then it's new stalks (combined left and right), plus poss new slip ring (most likely), then re code. (red display on dash is pre 10MY) Post 10MY can be done with used parts or new retro fit kit from TPS (VW trade outl...

Re: HR lowering
give it a little time to settle and make sure the road is completely flat where you have parked, normal roads have a hump profile to aid the water draining to the gutter and this will mess up ride heights, also if the car empty? boot empty? as again weight on one side in the boot or seats in the car...

Re: Cheap Panel Filters ... Heads up...
Go and log the airflow back to back... paper filters are not as bad as people think, plus the paper ones are better at filtering out the very fine particles which are the ones you need to worry about.

They will be gone in the next 6 months ready for when the tyres are changed... as it will be wheel refurb at the same time, I am thinking OE wheels in white would look good.

It's still nice and shiney, and today I retro fitted cruise, doddle on a Roccos (Tiggy I did as well was a pain! But that was down to park assist).

Re: New Rocco - 2010 Salsa Red 140 GT
had a good 5 hour session on the outside today! a wash, wax with red wax to help the colour pop, and then finally ultra gloss clear coat stuff from AutoGlym to seal in the colour, (Sadly I ran out of time to do the plastics! annoyed at that but they dont look too bad). The Red really pops now! very ...

Re: What now diesel?
yes.. E189 is basically the 2.0 TDi EU5 engines, so common rail 110, 140 170 bhp (The newer 150 and 184s are the new E2 something something engine, cba to find the exact number, but basically its a whole new engine and only shares the bore spacing with the Euro 5 engines). This is now also supposedl...

Re: HR Lowering springs
if the max load is lower what you will find is that the ride maybe a little softer and less controlled esp as you will be quite heavy up front with DSG, and add in 2 adults and you front axle weight will be getting close to the limit. The best thing to do is speak to H&R and see if they do highe...

Tax is based on CO2, not Nox, so there would be no grounds to raise tax, plus there is no evidence yet that European cars are actually involved, just rumour and maybes...and if they did somehow come to the conclusion that there had been tax avoidance going on it would be the manufacture who would b...

Re: What now diesel?
With the current rumpus over VW and diesel, what is the future for diesel Scirocco's? Why a company such as VW tried to deceive the US authorities, I simply cannot imagine? Essentially, this is a non story in the UK. The engine in question has (had) software installed which cheated the nox emission...

Re: ECU has to be removed!?
I don't write the mapping, I just witness the emissions testing, also VW aren't our customer so nothing to do with me, (plus the issue is the US which is self cert)

Re: ECU has to be removed!?
It all depends on the encription used, some can not be cracked to be mapped by the port and therefore need the ecu opened up and you have to connect directly to the chip its self, it can be case of who provided the ECU and the software used which is why some years can be mapped by the port, then a c...

There is another thread I replied to today where this was asked, I got mine via eBay from a company in Poland, it was the cheapest new kit (cheaper than most of the U.K. Sellers selling second hand kits)
