Re: Temperature!
Sounds similar to mine which I just had the thermostat changed which fixed the issue, that was a 2.0 TDI though. Cost £180 including parts as it's a pain to remove, hopefully the TSI engine is easier!

Re: 2.0TDI 140 Stuck Thermostat
Just a quick update. Had the thermostat replaced for £180 including genuine parts. Coolant temperature now gets up to 90 and is much more stable instead of fluctuating between 70-85 depending on driving conditions, oil temp is good now too. Cars got 45k on it at the moment so will look out the probl...

Re: 2.0TDI 140 Stuck Thermostat
I was using the Advanced Measuring Values screen, then just search for coolant. Should be "Coolant temperature at radiator outlet".

Re: 2.0TDI 140 Stuck Thermostat
This is one of the logs I took, 38 minute journey with the outside temperature at about 3-4 degrees. Blue line is the radiator outlet temp incase your wondering why its so low!

Re: 2.0TDI 140 Stuck Thermostat
I've had the car for a few years now and until now have never seen the coolant temperature gauge drop below 90 whilst driving, that was the main reason for me suspecting something was wrong. Putting the heater on does drop the temperature however where it seems to differ from yours is unless the car...

Re: 2.0TDI 140 Stuck Thermostat
I've seen a few webpages saying that the oil filter housing, alternator, oil lines and a few other bits need to come off but not 100% sure it that's for the same engine. Is this the case and that's why it's such a pain? On the hand I got quoted £211 to have it done with genuine parts, if it's as tim...

2.0TDI 140 Stuck Thermostat
Last few weeks I've noticed my 11 plate 2.0 TDI taking a long time to heat up, that combined with the sub zero temperatures recently and the temperature gauge has been dropping down whilst driving. I ran a log using VCDS on the way to work and the temperature fluctuates between around 65-80 degrees,...

Replacement oil filter query
Whilst doing an oil change today on my 11' 2.0TDI I went to change the oil filter for a bosch one that was purchased online however the old and new filters have a different fittings on the end. The original has a longer end with 2 o-rings as opposed to the new which is shorter with only 1. Have they...

Sourcing boot carpet material.
Currently in the process of building a subwoofer box to sit inside the spare wheel well and I now need to cover the fake floor with carpet. Does anyone know where I might get some that's as close a match as possible to the original carpet that's in the boot?

Re: Rear seats plastic cover removal?
Pushed down on the top and pulled and got the top clip undone, could then see the bottom clip and popped it out with a screwdriver. Thanks!

Re: Rear seats plastic cover removal?
Thanks for the reply however in 99% sure its a cover as its made of flimsy plastic that I cant see having any other purpose! The most I've managed to find on it is a few rear seat removal guides saying "remove the plastic cover"

Rear seats plastic cover removal?
Would anyone be so kind as to tell me how this plastic cover in the boot between the rear seats is removed? I've pulled at it and twisted it but before I end up breaking it I thought I would consult the forum! Pictured in the centre at the bottom of the rear seats here: http://i111.photobucket.com/a...

Re: New Scirocco owner, few issues.
Dave - Thanks for those instructions, was expecting to have to remove atleast a few bolts but had the seat bench out in no more than 2 minutes! Doesn't seem to be any sign of damp so hopefully Tim's right that it is just something silly like the boot being left open in the rain. There is a fair bit ...

Re: New Scirocco owner, few issues.
I don't know much about the history unfortunately as it was bought from a garage, with 15k on the clock I did not expect to see rust anywhere especially inside the car! I had a dig around and there doesn't seem to be any sign of water anywhere, so hopefully if there ever was an issue it has been res...

New Scirocco owner, few issues.
Hi! Bought myself a 140Tdi Bluemotion in Green and have had it for just over a month so far with not many complaints. Coming from a Stage 2+ tuned Audi S3 it's as slow as a week in the jail but it was bought for the economy which I'm more than happy with. There's a few issues with the car that I've ...
