Re: Project 500R ending
Sadly with only 18k on the clock the Sirocco is going. I finally paid it off and looked into doing a 4wd system. 2 of the main VAG tuners stated they had no time for such a lengthy project, 1 said they no longer do it and the only one who could do it was Regal Autosports who could not even give a pr...

Re: Scirocco exhausts - Help
Looks as though your exhaust already has tips on it. Try giving them a clean with Autosol and some elbow grease. They look the same as the chrome tips that were fitted from the factory on my 170 Tdi. If your profile is correct and it's a 2.0 TSI, then I'm pretty sure they come from the factory with...

Re: Looking for an R...
If you can stretch to an R it will be a better long term investment because you will spend a lot more than the price different if you want similar performance. I understand if it is a budget or insurance issue then any Scirocco I far better than not getting one. I usually change my car every 3 years...

Re: Tfsi or tsi
Chelspeed is correct, all the later Rs still have the TFSI belt drive engine. TSI is just badging and means nothing.

Re: Project 500R
I'm impressed! Maybe i got a few more whp after i changed the intercooler and added GIAC extreme file. So i guess a number around 350-370 crank hp is normal for a stage 2.5+ setup. To be honest I only did the intake and map so I wouldnt get issues running a TBE set up. It drives really nice so I'm ...

Re: Engine Blown
If you have an R it would be the belt drive TSFI and not a TSI. I've rebuilt lots of engines in the past including a TSFI that has a bent rod. Usually this seizes, snaps the rod and blows through the side of the block. On this occasion the piston broken and bent the valve causing damage to the compl...

Re: Project 500R
Whilst at the GTi International show the excitement of seeing all your cars made me decide to get some more mods done.
A quick trip to the APR stand To get 30% discount on a Stage 2 map and a VWR air intake. All fitted and running nice with the BCR exhaust.

Re: Scirocco R vs M135i vs Golf R
I have been trying to find a thread on another forum I read where they tested a 285 Roc and a 300 golf. The Gold was quicker off the mark but and through to 60, but from already rolling at 40+ the Roc was ahead to well over a 100 when the test stopped. I am all for 4wd Rocs if you can't get the powe...

Every man and his dog has a TT where I live and I think they look like a jelly mould. No real back seats either.Tallguy wrote: + I would have to go for the latest Audi TT. It may not be as fast as a Scirocco R but it is a more modern car and will have excellent resale values.

Re: Project 500R
Thanks Daniboy I will let you have first refusal lol. I have the BCS system fitted and pleased with it. I have asked Regal for a quote on fitting the complete 2.5 4wd drivetrain from the TTRS. If it's in my budget that's the way I will go with a stage 3 APR kit. Sounds mad I know, especially on a ne...

Re: Scirocco R vs M135i vs Golf R
Golf R drives great but looks like a Golf which to me is the same as all the other Golfs and Polos. 135i good drive but back end twitchy in the wet (mate has one). Inside is boring and dated compared to vw interiors but a good all rounder. Scirocco R looks the nuts and the difference between that an...

Re: Project 500R
BCS have had a few delays due to bends not arriving but at last it should be getting delivered to Regal today. I'm dropping my car down first thing in the hope it arrives in time to fit it, or its back in tomorrow. I could just wait till tomorrow but you know what it's like when you have a new toy. ...

Re: VW Autoglym care option
I would be interested to know what it is they put on it because it's not one of the products in the kit. When I had a Caddy van they did the 3year coating for free after a bad experience to get me to buy again. The coating had to be left 24hrs before I collected and I was told I only needed to wash ...

Re: Recaro Seats!
There's a handle at the front to slide them forward then you can tilt forwards afterwards. Not quite as simple as tilt and slide in one but hardly rocket science. There is but it's still a pain as the tilt only moves them forward a small amount because the side bolsters stop the seat folding much. ...

I'm a big fan of VWR kit but to be honest I think a quality spring is only there for the ride and the height and it's not as if you can see the branding like on brakes.Gmanr wrote:Thanks Stu,

Re: iphone 5/rns510 59 plate scirocco
Did you get the lead from VW?
My local garage is really helpful and spent a bit of time trying different leads till they got it all to work. I too had bought a lead for my previous R-Line and it didn't work so I gave up thinking it just wasn't going to work.
