Re: Creaking rear seats

I had this from new (October 2009) and it was resolved in two ways. If I remember rightly, the roof lining was squeaking above the back windows and some foam was inserted. The boot was also a bit loose somehow, and they fixed it by raising up the two rubber stoppers that the boot lid rests on. It wa...

Re: Gran Tursimo 5 - Scirocco R and Golf R now available...

Wow, the Scirocco R is really nice to drive in GT5, just using the soft sports tyres and with no other mods.

Even when you reduce the power down to a TDI-like 138 bhp with the power limiter, it's still pretty sweet!

Re: Front tyres

My first set of fronts were Bridgestone Potenza RE050As, and they only managed 8900 miles! I have Conti SportContacts on now which must have done about 11,000 and are still just about OK.

Re: Gran Tursimo 5 - Scirocco R and Golf R now available...

Sweet! I'm running out of exciting cars to buy. If only they had included my TDI 140! Maybe not... I dont think any game has the challenge 'How many miles can you get out of a full tank' To be fair, some of the races in GT5 are almost that boring! If it wasn't for the seasonal events, I'd hav...

Re: Possible company car - Is the basic spec worth it?

I have a 59-plate TDI 140, base spec, no options as a company car. It was already slightly over budget, hence the Candy White - I couldn't even stretch to metallic paint. If I had been buying it myself, the GT trim is definitely worth the extra, but I can honestly say that I love my car and don't re...

V-Power Diesel

Anyone ever use the V-Power Diesel any more? It seems fairly redundant now that they're flogging the 'FuelSave' standard diesel.

I've used the "Philips H7 Blue Vision Bulb (12972-BVD)" without any problems. They're a bit crap though.

Nice, although it doesn't quite make up for its shocking omission from Gran Turismo 5!

Re: What works for bird and squirrel poo?

The Autoglym wipes are OK, I just got a second box of them. As long as you catch it within a couple of hours, you can take it all off, although it does tend to move the poo around a bit and spread it out! My car has a fairly fresh coat of HD wax on it too; I'm sure that also plays some part in makin...

Re: Wiper Bliss

Hey, I meant to say, I bought these Bosch blades too.

To be honest, I'd completely forgotten about them, but I think that's only because they've been working perfectly in all sorts of weather - definitely better than the standard fit.

Sick Vomit Barf Spue

Well, that's the last time the kids are allowed in the Scirocco...

Anyone ever had to clean sick out of the cloth seats? Any tips would be appreciated!

The combination of the bucket seat and mesh cloth is absolutely perfect at collecting and retaining the spue BTW...

Re: Behind Glove Box Vibration Noise...

Yup, I get this as well, at 1,300 -1,500 rpm (in the TDI 140).

However, it wasn't on the car as new - it only started after my crash last summer. I assumed that it hadn't been repaired very well.

It's pretty annoying but it's usually drowned out by Metallica or Deftones or Reuben or.......

Re: 8GB SDHC card = monumentally slow

I use the 'Extreme' CompactFlash cards in my camera, and they're really good, but honestly, I'd avoid using SD cards altogether now. A USB stick is much faster. I got one of these:

for about £25.
