Re: It arrived....but!
Sorry to hear about the damage but at least the dealer had the decency to admit it. I had an A4 delivered a while back with paint damage and the dealer tried to pull a fast one. I'm afraid I also have to disagree on the BMW comment. BMW without a doubt have the edge on build/feel quality but are le...

Re: Scirocco vs Golf GTI
Parking sensors a must? Pah. What a load of BS. No offence Pete, but if you struggle to reverse park a Polo then perhaps you just need to practice more. I don't think sensors will particularly help. For what it's worth I've never thought 'oooh I wish I'd ordered parking sensors because this thing is...

Re: VW Assist telephone number
Ah the joys of having built in bluetooth. One press of the spanner button next to the interior light on the ceiling and the car dials it for me... Not that I've ever had to use it but I was like a kid in a sweet shop when I got it - if there was a button to press you can bet your bottom dollar I pre...

Re: 122 vs 160 hp 1,4 TSI
The article states that the new 122bhp blue motion version will have start/stop technology and some form of KERS device - it states it will replace the current 122bhp offering with 200Nm of torque, implying that in some territories there is a 122bhp option already. A quick google search comes up wit...

Awesome SWB Quattro build
Ok guys not a Scirocco but an awesome car from the VAG family being given a new lease of life here. Some awesome engineering going on as well, well worth a read.

Re: What are your top 5 roccos?
These cars are classic VW - bodykits and lippy spoilers just don't look right IMO.
Follow the classic VW rule and you can't go wrong - smooth, subtle, sleek. The grey one above for example is fapping lovely with just wheels and some suspension. Love it.

Re: Damaged Paintwork
I'd kick off, big time. Ask to see the wash bay and then watch them squirm. My ex sent her Mk4 Golf R32 to a certain Surrey dealership for a service and they washed it with what can only be described as a brillo pad. Scratches all over it, some really deep where they'd scrubbed at bits of the paintw...

Re: I Got It :( Now it's Gone
Strange that they would supply you a rental as surely that must be costing them more. Equally surprising that your company as over 100 cars with them and they don't seem to care. Or maybe it's not that surprising considering it's Arnold Clark. You've done the right thing mate. if you had kept it, i...

Re: I Got It :( Now it's Gone
BP, at least something is moving with it now. Astonished that the conversation with AC ended in a shouting match though, after all it's their cock up, no? I don't work in the leasing sector but I am corporate sales manager for a rather large global daily rental company - I'll let you decide which of...

Re: I Got It :(
Sorry if I've missed it but are you leasing the car personally or are your company leasing it on your behalf? If your company are leasing the car for you then it's worth involving your fleet manager to apply a bit of pressure. TBH I'm a bit surprised that ACVM aren't interested, have you spoken wit...

Re: I Got It :(
Carefull you're not paying BIK/Company car tax on the extras you ordered... I work in the industry and you need to understand where things have gone wrong - whether it's VW not speccing the car properly or whether your leasing company have not ordered it properly. Then you throw your toys in the req...

Re: Why do people airbrush their registration plates
There are a host of reasons as to why it's sensible, the web is so vast you have no idea who will look at your stuff, why or what they will do with your information. By hosting that sort of info on the web, you're making life easier for them. Nobody is suggesting the above technique will be revoluti...

Re: Why do people airbrush their registration plates
I do this myself. Main reason is the cloning of number plates has become more and more common in recent years. Criminals basically copy your number plate, have their own plates made up displaying your registration number and put them on a car of the same make/model/colour. They'll use it in a crime ...

Ding dong! After 4 months and 3 failed delivery dates, she finally rolled out of hiding yesterday and landed in one of our company car parks. Could only pick it up this morning as I was in meetings all day yesterday though, it was a sleepless night! For the past 3 months I've been getting a ribbing ...

Re: Build week 40...
Wouldn't hold your breath. Mine was built two weeks ago and is still awaiting shipment, apparently. Original delivery date should have been 7th September, that got moved. Then after agreeing a delivery date of 28th September I got a message from the leasing company on Friday to say that the dealer h...
