Re: Temp gauge 2.0 petrol

Probably a faulty sensor or thermostat stick as even though the temp gauge doesn't display the real value, the real temp is usually around (mostly above) 90ºC. Mine runs almost always at 97ºC, and starts to go up from there if I floor it for a bit.. :)

Re: Remote central locking only unlocks drivers door

It will also prevent the door locking mechanism to worn out sooner than later, as you won't open the passenger door as many times as the driver's door, I guess... I have this option in my 2009 Scirocco in the MFD and I opted to leave it on. If I have a passenger with me I just need to press the butt...

I really can't say, my Scirocco is from 2009, no warranty already.. :) And I haven't fitted the springs yet, also.

Re: what did you get for Christmas

I got some random stuff like socks and similar, but the main gift were these H&R lowering springs for the Scirocco:

Re: Which model have I bought?

Personally I don't think I would accept a map to 170bhp in compensation. I don't think that having a TDI140 mapped to 170bhp is the same thing as having an original TDI170. You have been lied to when buying your car, I believe that you need a more valuable compensation than that. One that with it yo...

Re: eddie_gordo's '09 Rising Blue 2.0 TSI DSG from Portugal

So a few weeks ago I retrofitted the bi-xenon headlights on my Rocco. Only today I found some time to give it a proper wash and take some pics: http://i.imgur.com/bNYaD5U.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dYXAQX7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/MZD85WT.jpg http://i.imgur.com/G5Ks44C.jpg I am also replacing all the bulb...

I guess this will be the first and the last time that I get to have two posts together in this thread. :D Although I don't have any fancy pics while washing the car as many people here do, I just found some time before dinner to wash the Rocco. Here are some before and after pics: http://i.imgur.com...

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?

Today I managed to find some time to replace the original vanity mirror and read passenger reading bulbs with LED. Now I have to find time to change the front reading light bulbs, boot light bulb, glovebox bulb, footwell bulbs... :D

Re: 2.0tsi timing chain tensioner. WARNING!!

I would also like to know if this is a noise that you can hear from inside the car when you start it up... Also, can you provide the part number for this? It would be easier to explain the dealers what I'm talking about.. :)

Cheers

Re: New Tyres, Front Or Rear?

You should ALWAYS get your new tyres in the rear axle. :) It's probably not the best video but you get the idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSz7cm6MwH0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; And from the Michelin website: http://www.michelincertifiedcentre.co.uk/tyresafety/new...

Re: Karlos's rocco

Well I'm from Portugal and bought mine from a friend here, so I don't have any link for you, I'm sorry. Also you need some adapter cables and some changes through VCDS to retrofit them, but it's well worth it. I don't know how the law there, but here in Portugal for driving with Xenon you need to ha...

Looking great! I would suggest the bixenon retrofit, the car looks completely different with the bixenon headlights.. :)

How much did you pay for the VWR induction kit?

Keep it up, it's a great car! :D

2.0 TSI missing hose?

Hi guys, Yesterday a friend helped me retrofit some xenon headlights in my Scirocco and we noticed something weird: there's a hose that is, apparently, missing. http://i.imgur.com/t5FOdVk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/GkIXauY.jpg It seems to be from the intake manifold... Is this supposed to be like this? ...

Re: Spare Wheel Size.

I'm not really sure about the Scirocco, but my brother once owned a Honda Civic Type R and the spare wheel had to be mounted in the rear because of the brake calipers also.. So, if a front tire blows, he needed to change one rear wheel to the front, and then mount the spare on the rear... Maybe that...

Re: 2.0 TSI hissing sound

I guess I never heard it before because I had the music loud or something.. :D Also I think that in D, the engine is never working at its full power in those revs, as it shifts down if I push the accelerator hard... I heard it when using Manual mode, that's probably why I never heard it before.. :) ...

2.0 TSI hissing sound

Hi guys, I own a 2009 Scirocco 2.0 TSI with a DSG gearbox since August, with 45k miles on the clock. Today, while trying to overtake a car in the highway, I pressed the accelerator pedal and I've heard a hissing sound, something like an air leak when the turbo starts to boost. I can only hear the hi...
