Re: Samsung Galaxy S7 edge
There no guarantees with VW Bluetooth. Its juts not very reliable/compatible. You can check the module under your seat and see if there is a more modern version available. Speak to http://www.carsystems.pl/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; they can probably tell you what modu...

Re: Pumpkin android head units
Been looking at these as an option myself, but there is very little info on them. They sound too good to be true TBH.... Built in Bluetooth, MFD and steering wheel control integration, sat nav etc etc... I suppose for £200 taking a punt can't hurt, and you can likely resell it if its rubbish. Please...

Re: satnav on your mobile - audio output/Bluetooth options?
we seem to be at cross purposes here: 1) if your car has Bluetooth phone capability, and you listen to something via radio or MDI, then google maps can interrupt music from any source for nav directions. 2) if you don't have Bluetooth capability and you're plugging phone in via MDI, it has no way t...

Re: satnav on your mobile - audio output/Bluetooth options?
I used my phone as a sat nav (Google Maps/Navigation) on my old car with bluetooth, and that used to quieten the music when directions came on and the directions would come through the speakers, I have yet to use it on my Scirocco with bluetooth but I imagine it'll be the same. Can let you know nex...

Re: satnav on your mobile - audio output/Bluetooth options?
Doesn't work with the Bury sadly - I'm not surprised, its really a piece of junk...shrink wrote:theres a setting on google maps where you tell it to use the phonecall Bluetooth for maps rather than the audio bluetooth
I'm surprised more people aren't using their phones regularly as satnavs...

Re: satnav on your mobile - audio output/Bluetooth options?
Can't seem to get audio on my VW/Bury Bluetooth from googlemaps - I generally prefer the TomTom app anyway, google doesn't tell you to turn until half way through an intersection! I guess there is no good option to have TomTom output over the car speakers? I'm not convinced a bluetooth module would ...

Re: satnav on your mobile - audio output/Bluetooth options?
Thanks for the replies.
I do have MDI, but the cable to too short to use the iphone plug and use it as a display, but AUX should be easy to extend - I never considered that option.
I take it that I can't listen to the radio and have it still work tho? I've not tried...
Anyone else?

satnav on your mobile - audio output/Bluetooth options??
For those that use the Satnav on your mobiles a lot, how do you handle the audio output? Can they work with Bluetooth over the car speakers? What is your setup? I currently use an iPhone 4s and a tomtom mount, but I want a new phone! The mount has am inbuilt speaker which helps a lot, and I don't th...

Total waste of money IMO. 3 letters that sort of but not really spell the name of your car... Beyond pointless.
Buy something to make it go faster, run smother, last longer, look better or more comfortable/fun instead.

Re: Fitting RNS510
Best price for installation I got was £60, dealer said £70-100 depending if software needed updating. It's a pretty simple job and there is a tutorial on this forum as well as on YouTube. Only reason I'd avoid doing it myself is not being sure if steering wheel controls and mfd would work after, and...

Hi mate, A similar thing happened to me (albeit maybe not the same), but I thought I would just share my embrassment just in case it helps others. I pulled in at the petrol station some weeks ago in the Roc, got out went to open flap without success, tried always even got back in the car and read t...

Just had mine done - £15 for the part - £60 for labour (dealer). Its like a new car again. Thanks to the forum! The dealer had no clue until i gave them the TSB.

Re: Strange metallic rattle between 1500-2500rpms
Exact same problem here, light acceleration and it would make a diesel like rattle on my 2.0 TSi, that just made the car sound cheap and nasty. I just got the clip and had it installed (£15 for the part - £60 for labour at the dealer (ouch)), but its like a new car again. Thanks to the forums for th...

Re: Waterless Car Wash?
So that's a no then... haha Not that this helps you, but what's wrong with water ? Nothing at all, but not all of us can wash on the street, or have a drive - and the local car wash is terrible (no soap most of the time, and a ratty brush that would do more ham than good). It's still a necissity whe...

Waterless Car Wash?
I used to scoff at folk who used waterless car wash as lazy mans solution, expensive and a way to scratch your paint, but a few years ago while I was in America and owned a Black car I came across the stuff called "dri wash n'guard" which was really amazing. It lifted dirt, hazed up, buffe...
