Scirocco Central

Evening.

Will anyone be going to the Cars & Coffee event at the Chung Ku restaurant in Liverpool on the 27th? Starts at 9:30 and is on until 12. There were so many nice cars there last month but it would be nice to see a couple of different sciroccos.

I'm also willing to give it a test (unless you only have one cable).

I'm averaging 28.9 at the minute. I can get up in the high 30's on a good motorway run.

I removed the 'scirocco' and '2.0tsi' badges today. Looks better without them in my opinion. Been meaning to do it for a while now.
I also cleaned the exhaust tips. They were beginning to look completely black.

I had the same a few weeks ago with a brand new Golf GTD. Surprised at how well it kept up.

6-10k a year doesn't seem like a lot. Would you not be better going for the 2.0tsi?

Personally I love the DSG gearbox. Make sure you test drive a manual as well though to see which you prefer.

I decided to take a de-tour on the way home from work which involved a nice country road. Was nice to give it a bit of a blast. I had the windows down and the radio off and I had forgotten how good it sounded. Put a smile on my face.

Anyone else find themselves taking a 'long'-cut on the way home?

Personally I love the DSG box. Part of my commute is very stop-start so it makes that part very easy work.

You can push the stick over to the left which puts it in manual mode which I find myself doing quite a bit. Gear changes are very quick but still smooth. Glad I went for the DSG.

I had to go and purchase some new wiper blades because some absolute spoon obviously had a bit too much to drink last night and snapped mine off. Great start to 2015.

I finally gave mine a bit of much needed TLC. Seats hoovered and cleaned. Dash given a once over. Chrome exhaust pipes are now looking great again after looking black for the last few months. Next job - install some black VW badges.
