Re: Modifying a PCP car
To be honest the bottom line is, as long as you return it in the same state that you received it then there's no issue. So mod it if you like but take it back to stock before you hand it back. This. My last car was a fleet vehicle, I modified all the audio gear, but put it all back to standard bar ...

Window Fail
When away on holiday in Cornwall, I left the car in a car park, locked it and walked away. I looked back just because I like to look at the car, it is pretty after all. Anyway, when I came back the alarm was sounding and to my surprise both windows were fully open. Fast forward to today, the alarm i...

Re: Daytime running lights
My DRLs are turned off, but my auto lights function appears to be knackered as the lights are almost always on anyway, even in bright sunlight!

Re: Customer Service
I've been putting off the boot rattle for ages - mine creaks and rattles like a Spanish Galleon, 4 days without the car seems a lot though, when they replaced the cylinder head and injection system on my old Golf TDI in 1 day. How long can it take to strip out and rebuild the boot interior trim? Sh...

Re: Customer Service
They're shite. I phoned up recently to report an error message saying 'Oil Sensor Workshop'. After putting me abruptly on hold the girl came back and said 'Ah, that's only an indicator to tell you the oil is low'. I told her it isn't, and she said it 'get stuck sometimes' and asked me if there was a...

Update...
Apparently 'Oil Sensor Workshop' means 'Oil low'. Why it doesn't just say this is beyond me, apparently the warning message 'get's stuck sometimes'.
Interesting!

Re: Oil Pressure Sensor
Yup, no leaks.
It's not clear what oil sensor has failed, most likely pressure I guess. I've topped it up for now, but I'll book it in and see what's what. Might as well get some other niggles sorted at the same time.

Oil Pressure Sensor
My Roc' just recently flashed up an error message 'Oil Sensor Workshop'. Not the most descriptive issue I've ever seen, I checked the oil level which appears to not register anything at all which is rather worrying after 6k. My previous car (another VAG) would at least warn me when it got low. Is it...

Mine keeps falling off randomly, so I've just stuffed it in ashtray area (with the lid open). Works fine there!

Re: What Options?
I have learnt over the years that unnecessary options are only useful for the next owner ie you are paying all the extra now for someone to appreciate in 3 years. You will only get back a small, infact very small percentage of the cost. Yes any car does become a little more desirable with certain e...

Re: Humour me, but I have a crazy idea....
My 170GT is due towards the end of March, I bought a GT as I wanted the 170 DSG, I don't want the black headlining, but VW won't fit a silver/grey one for me in the factory. So I see my choices as: 1. Buy a complete headlining set including A, B and C pillars and lights in silver/grey and get my lo...

Has anyone managed to get sunglasses to fit in the sunglasses compartment on their Rocco?
I've got 3 pair and none of them fit, they're not massive either!

Why should you have compensation? They told you why they couldn't do it, and now they're doing it?

Re: What don't you like about your Rocco?
I'm not that happy with the RCD510, the Media-In issue is a pain, and the navigation is slow and cumbersome, sometimes dangerous if you're driving. Also a bit disappointed that you can't navigate through folders using the steering wheel controls like you can in the Audis. I'm getting tempted to repl...
