I do c. 100miles a day so I know exactly when it gets to temp. It started not going high at all, with oil only hitting c. 76'. So I got the thermostat replace...

lowered scirocco with spaced out stock interlagos? pic?

Hi! I've lowered my scirocco 35mm on HnR... and im weighing up whether to just space the stock wheels out or purchase some bbs type wheels... spacers are 80quid... wheels are £400! I love the stock wheels but wondered if anyone had spaced their stock wheels out on a lowered car? and if so - could i ...

Re: Help! Need a v quick decision on Warrenties!

Hi - well I made the decision to go for comprehensive with £0 excess. for the sake of a few extra quid, I don't want to have to pay a penny I anything goes wrong. I got the Service manager at my local vw to call back, he has always gone the extra for me and I find him a very decent chap. he recommen...

Re: Need a Health Check Before 2000 mile trip to Europe

Not to mention checking tyre depths, I think in certain eu countries the legal limit is higher than ours. (ours being 1.6mm) Tbh, just a thorough common sense going over of the car is adpt... If you dig through your paper work you may find the check list that VW do (their 100 point check or whatever...

Re: Photo of the Month applications - April 2015

I like this pic of mine - shame I lost all the quality of it due to instaspam! http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f309/smithy1900/IMG_1379.jpg And although it's meant to be one piccie I guess - as this won't be eligible for next month, and really shows off the colour 'night blue' http://i50.photobuck...

Looks good mate good job. But... Only problem is it's not an r. Not a big fan of cars being done up to look like something it's not. Especially when it's a diesel. Not been funny mate got a 502 hp escort cosworth sat in the garage for speed if I wanted a r I would of brought one Love this response ...

Re: Wheel spin...

Not sure if this is totally wrong, but don't forget, compared to the rear, the fronts are attached via a driveshaft to the diff, and then, in turn ( pun! ) to the other wheel - so you will be turning a lot more than just a single wheel - it could therefore feel heavier?

Re: HID kits that DO work

thanks. Without sounding like a dick, that wasn't what I asked. I have fitted the best bulbs I can buy ( in my opinion) which are Phillips ... did a lot of research into them and i'm confident they are the best all rounder. I have previously ran HID's in in the stock housing ( until they start givin...

HID kits that DO work

Hi, I tried to fit an hid kit to my scirocco, it was meant to be canbus error free but I always had one light stop working. you would have to turn lights on and off again - So I sacked them off. I've tried two kits in all and both had the same issue, the NS light would go out. Had anyone got them in...

its all circumstantial.

Can you afford it - that's what it boils down to.... if you could, why not have a newer, faster car?

likewise = what a total ballache eh! I've cleaned them out once, what I did was; Got a hoover and a piece of vacuum pipe. found a spray can lid that vagely had the same diameter of the hoover inlet/nozzle, drilled a hole in said lid and put vacuum pipe through - silicone it in place Attached lid to ...

Re: RNS510 Satnav road selection

mines the opposite, takes the most convoluted arse about tit way imaginable. its a total pain in the arse. If youignore it, it gets the hump, then goes 'yeah ok, you're routes 10 mins faster'

urgh!

you can select route preferences in settings failing that, I think vw possibly do an update?

Im pretty much 90% sure you have Bluetooth there mate. I forgot to check if mine had it when I bought it, lesser sterior to yours and it did :)

Re the price.

I got a decent specced GT DSG 2.0TDI with 37k on the clock for £16k... so that seems fair enough to me.

Re: 59 plate 2.0 TDI 170 bhp problem Help please!

yikes. turbo ( from the pics) looks relatively undamaged save the oil and what looks like slight damage to the edge of the blades - I guess from all the oil, metal filings etc that smashed out the block. Its more down to play with a tubby though, and ensuring its still balanced. I would replace anyw...
