Re: Body Control Module FAILED TWICE!
I've known audi a3's blowing wiper motors when HID'S fitted. its because they share the same earth and the current draw blows the motor.
i would give the lights there own earth on the chassis and not a shared one.

Re: Couple of questions 2.0tsi
yeah Volkswagen have changed the design of the tensioner so it doesn't wear out prematurely. Now that it's done it won't happen again. Yeah low mileage it was an ex demo car got it with 12 k on the clock good price aswell because I was a technician for VW at the time.

The flaps seize inside and when it try's to move them the rod pops off or snappes inside.
Saw hundreds to do it when I worked for vw

Re: Couple of questions 2.0tsi
The tensioners "teeth" wear down and when the oil pressure drops off over night, when you start it up in the morning it rattles and them the noise goes away(about 1 second rattle) eventually it will jump a tooth and hit the valves. I've just had mine changed 2010 2.0 tsi with 28 k on the c...

Re: Turbo help!! Any advice would be great!
Check the vac pot that controls the turbo make sure it holds vaccume and is recivng vaccume put a t piece in on a vaccume gauge and watch it as you Rev the engine.
Make sure the rod moves freely and doesn't stick.
They've got variable vain turbos that a just to make higher boost at lower RMP.

Re: dsg gearbox problem
Just going back to the comment about DSG boxes being trouble. The answer I think generally is an emphatic no. Overall they are very reliable so long as they are looked after and maintained, I guess the 6 speed may be deemed to be the slightly safer bet on account of it having been around for longer...

Re: Oil warning light already?
vw say that engine can use up too a litter of oil in 5000 mile and thats in tolerance !
when i worked there they did publish a technical bulletin on our server about this issue, they can do an oil consumption test and if its out of tolerance they replace the base engine
