I would go with a clay bar my self. But I would first tar and glue the car, wash, then clay. I say this because if you use tar and glue then the clay without removing the tar and glue your clay bar will pritty much fall to pieces.

I use cutting compound if I run out of autosol with wire wool. Brings up mint. I wouldn't use it if exhaust was chrome finish tho.

Dsg are pritty much bomb proof as long as you change the dsg oil and filter as per vw guidelines
Dsg oil is pricey tho. But well worth IMO. Would not go back to a Manuel again (vag wise anyway)
