Time to say goodbye
After owning a Scirocco R for the last 6 years I've just traded it in for a BMW M2 competition. Anyone thinking of buying an R should go for it. The car never let me down and was always a pleasure to drive. Thanks for all the advice and help I've received whilst being a member. There's a wealth of i...

Yes, would also like to hear your thoughts on the M2. When I decide to change, the M2 is definitely on the list

Rear sub-frame rust
My R came through its MOT today at an independent garage. They mentioned rust on the rear sub-frame and quoted approx £100 to remove the rust and seal it. Just wondering how much a VW dealership would charge for this? I've got my service in a couple of months and could get it done at the same time. ...

Re: New Rubber!
I recently had 4 new tyres. Having read a lot of posts on here the two most popular tyres seem to be the Michelin Pilot Supersport or the Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 2. I went with the Michelins. They're quieter on the road than the Bridgestones and seem to absorb the bumps better. Although the tyr...

Will it pass?
Mr car is having its first MOT next Saturday. I've recently noticed vibration coming through the steering wheel under braking around 50MPH. I presume the MOT will pick this up? Would it cause it to fail the MOT? There's some scoring on the rear discs but the pads seems ok. The car has done 22500 mil...

Re: need scirocco r parts please help me
There's some front bumpers on ebay.;
Also read another post on here. A member suggested this website for parts. Looks pretty comprehensive: http://www.partsbase.org/vw/scirocco-sci-eu-2012/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: VW service and MOT courtesy cars.
Got my car serviced today. I used the online booking service but when I got there they had no record of it. Luckily they could fit it in. They also have to fit a new water pump as there has been a recall on them which I was unaware of. Unfortunately they don't have the part in stock so they're keepi...

Re: VW service and MOT courtesy cars.
My local VW dealer charges for a courtesy car. Is this the same at other dealers? It's £12.50 for insurance and doesn't include fuel. My 12 plate is due a service in 3 weeks. As it's 2 years old the online booking service recommends new brake fluid and an aircon service. Just wondering if this is ne...

Fitting Electric Seats
I have a Scirocco R with the standard cloth interior. I have found some leather electric seats for sale in Germany. How easy is it to fit these? I understand the wiring loom is under the seats. Would the wiring loom have connectors for the electric seats and would they simply plug in? I'm pretty muc...

Re: Questions regarding DSG and LSD
I've found the DSG box to be superb. It is super smooth. I believe the first clutch does gears 1,3 an 5 with the second clutch 2,4 and 6. Whilst in gear I don't think the clutch is engaged. Therefore it has the gear above and below already pre-selected. There is no delay in up or down shifting that ...
