Re: Changing springs
Springs such as Eibach pro will work just fine with your stock shocks and you will still retain your adjustable chassis control. The ride will be firmer but not uncomfortable.

Re: 2.0 TSi Missfire Issue
The drive to work was a little better the following day but the misfire was still there. After reading lots of info on the net and on here, the finger was pointing at a faulty coil pack. Being 90% certain I nipped in to Awesome GTi while out in the work van and picked up a full set of Audi R8 coil p...

Re: 2.0 TSi Missfire Issue
Just had a look at the coils and 2 of them did press down further than they were. Started it up and it seemed fine however it wasn’t at normal running temp so I’ll see how it goes on my drive to work in the morning. Well I’ve paid for a 2 year service plan so they will be changing plugs or I’ll be k...

Re: 2.0 TSi Missfire Issue
Cheers I’ll take a look. It’s still on the original plugs but they will be getting replaced on Monday when it goes in for it’s major service. Are they individual coils for each plug or is it one piece?
Thanks.
Thanks.

2.0 TSi Missfire Issue
So this started today. On my drive to work this morning I noticed a slight blip from the engine while idling, kind of like it was missing a beat. This happened a few times. On my way home it worsened. While idling it was happening every few seconds and it seemed to judder up to around 2000 rpm. When...

Re: Tyre noise or wheel bearing
I was experiencing a noise from the front wheels of my car at low speeds, it was driving me mad! I thought it was wheel bearings or cv joints. I was given an idea that it could be the tyres but I disregard that idea as it sound seemed metallic. But one day at work with some spare time I swapped the ...

Rear Brake Disc Size?
Getting a scrubbing sound on the rear when braking and Euro car Parts have a good sale on at the moment so a good time to replace! So does anyone know what size the rears are as ECP list 3 different sizes for my reg plate. A search on here suggests 288mm and a google search suggests 255mm.

Re: Is This USB Plug and Play?
I have the iPod 30 pin connector in the MDI for my tunes. Didn't think that it probably uses the same connection as the MDI. I'll invest in a cig lighter adaptor then, shame as I prefer the OEM look.

Re: Is This USB Plug and Play?
I initially thought it was a standalone power supply similar to the cig lighter but as you say it connects to the head unit. So the question is to anyone that has one fitted, does it charge an iPhone?

Is This USB Plug and Play?
Looking to charge my iPhone in the car while using as a satnav and came across this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-Connector-Switch-Cable-Wire-Harness-for-VW-GOLF-RCD310-RCD510-5KD035726A-/182146724629?hash=item2a68ca7315:g:s18AAOSwQaJXRYtd" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; are...

2.0 TSi Rev Limiter Question?
Out of curiosity, at what what point does the rev limiter kick in on a 2.0 TSi? Today, after making a quick exit in 1st with a bit of wheel slip i noticed i was at 7000rpm which is 1000rpm in to the red, i thought the limiter would kick in at 6000rpm?

Re: Clunky 1st to 2nd Gear Change
Ok going to sort this today! Came across this on YouTube " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it mentions locking the transmission in the home position where the the selector fits onto the gear box. Is this applicable to the scirocco?

Re: Clunky 1st to 2nd Gear Change
Ha ha, definitely a manual gear box! Thanks and I'll check the cables. Hard to describe but I can feel 2nd gear engaging through the gear knob when shifting slowly.

Clunky 1st to 2nd Gear Change
For a while now my 1st in to 2nd gear change hasn't been smooth, feels quite notchy and have to take it slowly to avoid a crunch sound. Sometimes selecting 1st from neutral can have a tight feel. Going from 3rd to 2nd has no problems and neither does any other gear. I do have the Audi TT/S3 sort shi...

Same issue when I fitted Eibach, after a good 50 or so miles it settled fine. Go over a few speed humps to get the suspension to compress.

Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Today I fitted an Audi S3/TT short shifter. Simple job although the air box was a bit of a pain to remove. Feels much better than the standard one. Ordered from German eBay as the dealers is around 8 miles away and would require 2 visits so overall eBay.de was cheaper! The new one http://i10.photobu...
