I was quoted £4200 for the box, and 'beat them down' to £400..
I've worked in automotive for 15 years, and am getting more and more worried that this is going to end badly!

Location of DSG gear box 'number'
Hi all! Long story short, after DSG problems (which I'm sure are related to the recall) I was told the gearbox failed, and a new one would have to be fitted. After much arguing thus was knocked down to £400 (car is a 2009) however it was 'fixed' in 4 days - I'm very sceptical that a box has been fit...
