Re: It's time to let go...

If you haven't done the deal yet, take a look at the new Quashqui. Got one a few months back to replace my Roc and like you had considered the Tiggy but the kit you get in the Nissan threw it for me.

Good luck.

Re: de-icer?

Warm water does the trick - I've also seen some people spray on a mixture of water and vinegar.

Today however, I just pressed the button for my thermal windscreen* and watched it just melt away :)

*loving my new QashQai!

Re: colour

When I was buying a Roc it was out of Rising blue and Candy white. I decided that the Rising blue looks the best although compared to the white, shows the swirl marks more in sunlight. I've also read that the white is more difficult to colour match should you respray a bumper for example. Go for Ri...

Re: colour

Rising Blue is the best in my view - I had Candy White and the plus point there is stone chips don't show up as much and they are easy to touch up.

I had a met Blue Exige and the front looked like it has been shot at with a 12-bore!

Re: Finance

Hi - I had 4 months left before I had to pay my final balloon payment, so yes it was on VW finance. Basically, ring VW Finance and ask for a settlement figure (this is effectively what is left to pay less any interest you wont accumulate - the garage offer you a price on your car that hopefully is m...

Re: Finance

You can end the agreement at any time these days...If you want to change the car, as long as the value of the car covers the outstanding finance you can change whenever you like - increasingly, cars have become like mobile phones, just chop and change when you feel like it. You might even have some ...

Re: So, I'm off...

So, picked the new car up today...very different to the Roc - almost deathly quiet on the motorway. Only had 15 miles on the clock and still returned 58 mpg on the drive home at a steady 75mph, so can live with that! Stereo is the only thing that lets it down - not enough punch to the bass so might ...

Re: GT 170. MPG

If it helps, 36,000 miles over 18 months, 46/47mpg generally - rarely got more than that and generally stick at 60 on A/B roads and 80/85 mph on motorways There are loads of CR Diesel engine cars out there with brick like aerodynamics that what will turn out massively better MPG's - I think it is th...

Re: So, I'm off...

Just cleared the car out before it goes to the garage tomorrow...

Can't believe I kept so little rubbish in the car - pair of shades, high-vis jacket, obligatory leather and dash wipes and that was it!!!

So long and thanks for all the fish :dancer:

So, I'm off...

After 18 months of Roc ownership I've chopped it in on a new Nissan Quashqui Tekna - found the need for four doors too much to resist but also found the VW corporate service completely crap and after today's debacle with them I'm determined they wont get another penny from me ever. SOme of you may r...

Re: VW Finance suck

So, turns out they saw me as fronting the deal for my daughter so went and bought her a new Smart car on 0% finance with more kit than the Polo for less money per month - actually a lot less! VW dealer highly unhappy with VWF and is taking it up with VWUK senior management - good luck to them with t...

VW Finance suck

I don't think it makes a repossession any more or less difficult but if that's their position on it sobeit. Her current car is a Citroen DS3 and we both appear on the log book but the finance is in my name - maybe this should have been the application with VW and would have made a difference. Too la...

Re: VW Finance suck

if it was me personally i would of just kept my mouth shut about it being for my daughter  the finance company doesn't need to know that, if you're paying the finance , its your car, easy On reflection, maybe but I didn't think it would be an issue. I guess they saw it was going to be regist...

VW Finance suck

So, I have a Roc on PCP and this is up for change in Jan 2015 - was thinking I would go for a Golf GTD when the time comes (or sooner if the right deal came up as I test drove one). Last week I went to the same dealer I bought my car new from in Jan 2013 to buy a new car for my daughter and we agree...

Re: Am i asking for too much?

If you want something rather depressing to hear...my local VW dealer offered me £14,500 for my Jan 2014 registered GT170 DSG with Xenons, Reversing Sensors, folding mirrors, Truffle Leather, Nav against a new Golf GTD DSG with heaps of options. It's just covered 30,000 and he assumed it would be at ...
