I now need a new mechatronics. 21 days before the part will be with the dealer. I am supposed to be going on holiday in the car next week and VW are being most unhelpful.

I had a new temperature sensor, they were on back order so a lot of people must be having them changed. 2 months later and it is doing it again. I'm taking it back in tomorrow.

The first time it happened to me I was cruising at 50mph in a roadworks section of the M1. The other times I was doing 70mph on a motorway and it just lost drive. So I don't think my problem can be anything to do with driving style.

My 2.0 TDI has had the same problem. I was on the motorway and then the PRNDS lights started flashing. I tried putting it into manual, the 654321 lights were flashing. The depress footbrake light came on also. It lasted for about 30 seconds and then went back into gear. I've taken it into the garage...
