Did they? I thought the FL Scirocco R kept the old engine and the new Golf R got the higher output lump?

Re: Stage 2+

I would certainly go for an unrated intercooler at stage 2+

I did but ambient temps here are a little higher.

Re: Audi RS5 to R

Which would I choose? That's a difficult question and depends on your circumstances. 4 years ago I was in a position to buy my first ever 'brand new' car and my budget allowed me to pick the Scirocco. The Scirocco was fantastic, coming from a high powered FWD car back in the UK I felt at home in the...

Re: Audi RS5 to R

I went the opposite way and bought a blue 2015 RS5. The scirocco will feel quick because it has the turbo punch and low down torque the the RS is missing, the RS is all about revs and gets it's power from a high revving engine. The RS is a great car but the scirocco is great fun too, just in a diffe...

Re: balloon white R

Oh that is a lovely colour!! What's with the black trim on the door though, it destroys the lines of the car? Thanks for the kind comment James. I decided to go with the gloss black trim as it needed something to break the colour up. Also it matches the wing mirrors and cup spoiler. At the end of t...

Re: balloon white R

This thread made me laugh, 2.5 years in the making and the only picture is a car half in the shade with what looks like black trim on the lower edge of the door?

Come on Nick, put some effort in, let's see this balloon in all it's glory.

Re: Rising Blue Project

Stu, I think all VWR kit is rebranded? Nothing wrong with it, they seem to pick the best of the available items and have them painted up in their colours.
Just out of interest, what do VWR charge for the wishbones and ball joints?

Re: Rising Blue Project

Hi Douggie, thanks.

I bought them from an ebay store in the UK, can't remember the name but fantastic service with next day delivery.

Looking at Stu's 500R thread, it looks like VWR (Volkswagen Racing) are selling the supalloy wishbones but branded as VWR parts.

Re: Project 500R

I have a friend here Stu who runs a Revo stage 2+ Golf R sat on KW DDC Coilovers. When the cars are rolling in let's say 3rd gear then the Scirocco will pull a little on the golf due to the weight difference. Do the same from a standing start and the outcome is staggeringly different; the golf has 1...

Re: Project 500R

450 -500hp through the front wheels!!! Didn't you consider the Golf R where that power would be useable?

Try stage 2+ for a while! I think anything beyond that is just a waste of power! you just won't have the traction in the first 3 gears and the DSG won't have a clue what to do.

Re: Rising Blue Project

The eurojet sports cat was fitted after the downpipe, this was then fitted to the standard VW centre box, it was the length of the pipe coming off the eurojet cat that we cut down and re welded the flange so it fitted nicely with the standard centre box. My exhaust is a bit of a hotchpotch of parts,...

Just typed out a huge reply only for it to crash when I posted it and I really can't be bothered to do it all again :grumpy: In short, £2k isn't a big enough budget to make the scirocco a 4WD equivalent but it's not far off Wavetrac diff £850 Bilstein PSS10 £1500 Supalloy wishbones £540 That little ...

Re: Rising Blue Project

The Eurojet is a straight swap for the standard exhaust and a simple fit. I wanted to reduce noise in the cabin so opted to use the standard VW centre box, that involved some cutting and welding to get the correct length needed.

If you're just fitting the system then it will bolt straight on.

Re: Scirocco R - replacing LED Daytime Running Lights

You can access them by pulling out the black plastic grille underneath them, these just simply pull out and click back in. Once the grille is removed you will be able to see how they are mounted.
