Re: rattling noise coming from left hand side
Hi Moose, It could be the infamous dashboard rattle?? I had this done in 2012 & they carry out the following: Velcro padding (yes, really) put on the bulkhead between it & the bottom of the windscreen. Also they apparently realign the position of the ECU on the bulkhead. The rattling does see...

Re: What's your idle speed?
Hi Cjl,
As you've got a diesel it's probably due to the car doing a re-gen at the time....................so probably nothing to worry about.

Re: Hissing from the brake pedal
Hi Owen, I had the same symptoms as you on my 58 plate & it was the brake servo that had a leak. Be prepared if it's the same for you as the job would of cost me about £1200 because they have to drop the engine on the RHD models to get to the servo. Luckily for me I had extended warranty. Good l...

Re: Scirocco 2.0 TSI GT DSG fuel economy
Hi Greenmamba, Don't like to scare you but have you had the infamous inlet manifold problem on your car? The reason i ask is because one of the symptoms of this is poor fuel economy. When I had my inlet manifold replaced I noticed a difference in fuel economy & more consistent performance from m...

Re: Clutch Howl - Wear & Tear?
Cheers sciroccorich.
I did give them at least the TSB no. you quoted but they said it wasn't on the system. Which is probably the same as when you've got an issue which is quite common they haven't come across it before
I will give them the TPI no. you quoted.
Thanks again for the reply.

Re: Clutch Howl - Wear & Tear?
Everyone, I've been following this clutch issue for a while as it's starting happening on my car. I have it booked in next week for some PD work on this issue. Could someone kindly let me know the current VW TSB / TPI number for this issue as I gave my VW garage a couple of numbers detailed on this ...

Re: Brake Booster Hissing
Hi TheHungryHipo, Slightly related & don't like to bring bad news. I had my brake servo replaced about a year ago as it had a leak, but I wasn't getting any issues like you detailed. Just to give you a heads up on the 2.0 TSI I was told it would cost you about £1200 to fit & replace because ...

Re: Inconsistent performance ....
Luckily, for me, I had extended warranty as mine's a 58 plate. But they did tell me it would of cost about £750 all in  . I believe the part alone is about £250. Something else I've just remembered........................going back about a year previous to it going during a service they picked u...

Re: Inconsistent performance ....
Hi Norco, Obviously as we all know humidity can play in part of the performance of a turbo car. In saying that I noticed the same with my 2.0Tsi. What I would say with my experience of what sounds like a similar thing to yourself is that the performance of my car has increased since I had my inlet m...

Re: Did I get a decent deal?
Hi Michael, If you do go ahead with the extended warranty I would seriously look at the VW one. I have a 58 plate 2.0TSI & have just purchased another years warranty for £275 & that includes full breakdown cover. This is for their driveline cover, which covers all engine & gearbox plus o...

Re: Tyre Stepping?
Hi, I had this exact issue when I bought my 3 year old 2.0 TSI 17 months back. the rears were stepped quite badly on the inside edges. I would seriously consider getting a four wheel/suspension alignment done, as my rear wheels where toeing to a combined total of -8 degrees. Now it's setup to a comb...

Re: 2.0L Tsi Wastegate Rattle Cure?
Hi All, I've just had the Wastegate rattle clip installed & again i can confirm it makes a big difference to the rattle noise. I also had the windscreen rattle sorted out at the same time. This needs velcro padding (yes, really) put on the bulkhead between it & the bottom of the windscreen. A...
