Exhaust tips
HI Guys (and gals), Quick question(s), does anyone know where i can get a replacement pair of tips for my exhaust? I have tried polishing the chrome back to former glory but it has become pitted and even using metal polishes cannot get it back to how it was. I have seen ones on the milltek site, any...

Re: Replacing R Interior
Hi, Ok here goes. I am assuming that if you bought the seats from the same seller as me then you have got German configured ones. This is hardly an issue at all but it means the seat belt warning cable is on the wrong side. These Recaro seats do not have seat airbags in. Anyway you will have 2 cable...

Re: Replacing R Interior
Do you have resistors? You need them to fool the ECU into thinking that you do have the the airbags in the seats. You also have to get the faults reset once you have fixed it.

Re: Replacing R Interior
Hi, I searched the forum including the link above but they don't mention taking side panels off. It states that you can take seats off the 'bar' but on my replacement back the bar is attached to both. If I have to remove the side panels then I am assuming by your instructions that I remove the rear ...

Re: Recaro's yay or nay..
I have just been through the (painful) procedure of putting Recaro's in and basically what you need is a resistor to make the car think that the seat airbag is still there. This will allow the VCDS to clear the airbag fault. If you dont do this i think that the fault will return.

Re: Replacing R Interior
Hi Rob, Thanks for the heads up but i have not been on here long enough to be allowed to PM yet! I think that i am going to keep my original R seats so that if i come to sell or px i can keep the recaro's for future use and put it back to stock. Unless of course i have an offer i cant refuse ;) I ha...

Re: Replacing R Interior
Got them from a place near me they are sold on t'internet as 'Recaro Airbag Resistors'. They have quite possibly the worst instructions ever and neither of the yellow plugs fit a scirocco. I just stuck the black cable into the socket in the car (under the seat) connecting them to the black and green...

Re: Replacing R Interior
Hi, Bought a pair of these today (airbag resistors) but i think that the fittings do not match the ones in my car (typical!) Has anyone in rocco world fitted them? If so do you have any advice/instructions on how to fit? Do you just basically shove the black cable into 2 of the receptacles on the ca...

Re: Replacing R Interior
Thanks, much appreciated. I have somewhere local to buy the resistor(s) from. I am assuming that the esp fault is just a knock on effect from the other fault(s)?

Re: Replacing R Interior
Can VCDS clear the fault codes with the new seats or will they just keep returning, as i was just reading on another forum that i may need to purchase a Recaro airbag resistor kit?
Thanks, Adam
Thanks, Adam

Hi Shaun,
2,700€ delivered from ebay germany. It was actually from a guy that was mentioned on the 'Recaro's yay or nay' thread. Motorsport2000. Good trader easy to deal with.

Re: Replacing R Interior
Last question for now (I hope). Because they are from germany they are opposite for driver and passenger, i found out that there is a extra cable on the passenger side for the seat belt warning. I plugged this one in when i fitted the seat but i am thinking should i have left it out? Will it show th...

Re: Replacing R Interior
Fair enough. This photo shows the different wiring on the bottom of the seats.
This photo shows the seats in and i think you will agree they look great. (shame about the flippin codes)

All plugged in and I put the battery back in and got an airbag fault and an ESP fault. I took the new seat out and put the old back in but am still getting the faults. What can I do now?
