I suspect his might be the same as mine, as i also couldnt see what the pipe (above throttle body) was going into before i removed the engine cover. As mines not under warranty, what would my options be here? Would preferably want to avoid taking it back to VW, where possible, to be hit by a decent ...

hmm i thought this might be the case which is annoying. I guess in the pic you've sent it is connected with the egr cooler.

mines a 2011 2.0 tdi bluemotion. engine number: cfh155801

I suppose you are saying the silver pipe (just above throttle body flap) on the right is connected to the egr valve but it doesn't seem to be exposed for removal?

Im getting the same error as yours - did you manage to resolve. would prefer giving the egr valve a clean before taking in to the dealer as have heard costs of up to £1000 with people managing to negotiate the price down

Hi Roy Do you know best way to pinpoint the fault given there are a few possible causes? Guess on mine i'm trying to understand if it is just the EGR valve that is faulty and whether a clean would suffice or if it'll need replacing.
