I had a rattle from the grab handle area on the passenger door of my Rising Blue 2.0 GT. Took it to the dealer who had it in for a day. They took the door-card off and replaced some buffers I think, in any case it cured the rattle completely which is good as it was driving me mad.

There's a risk in this reply that I'm going to sound like an expert ........ which I ain't :) However, I do have a DA polisher and have had some good results from it. You're right in that apparently German bodywork finishes are very hard which means there's less of a risk of doing something horrible...
