Re: Used prices... Hang on a moment.

That may be true but if the contract paperwork does not mention this anywhere how can they make me pay it back?

The paperwork also makes no mention of a minimum period - it says I can settle in part or full at any time

Re: Used prices... Hang on a moment.

I've just purchased a new Scirocco with the £2K finance discount. I didn't really want/need finance but the deal was better with it. I am still in the 14 day cooling off period and wonder if I can just cancel it and pay it off without having to refund the £2K. I've read all the small print and there...

315 Address Book bizarre behaviour

I have successfully paired my 315 with a Galaxy S5 and it downloads the contact list. 90% of the entries are correct but there are some really odd things going on. Some of the entries on my phone are not appearing in the 315 address book Some are appearing but only as numbers Some that appear on the...

Re: dual mass flywheel clutch

Interestingly, since the car was new I had a lot of problems with stalling at low revs. Since I picked up the car again with the new Dual Mass Flywheel it seems to be much better at low revs. It seems much smoother so I wonder if I have had a problem with the flywheel for a long time. They tell me t...

Re: Clicking in 1st gear

I think it might be the flywheel...but could this happen to a car with only 1200 on the clock? Yes! Look at my post here http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=12720&p=111912#p111912 Also note that they initially suggested that it was not covered by warranty! Good luck ...

Re: dual mass flywheel clutch

How many miles have you done? The reason I ask is because my Dual Mass Flywheel has self-destructed in a 15 month old Scirocco GT 2.0 TDI 6 speed manual which has only done 12000 miles. There was a few minutes of a slight vibration followed by a loud bang and a car that wasnt going anywhere. Had a b...

Thanks for that. Your dent is much bigger than mine so that makes me feel better.

Re: Would you believe it?

Can anyone suggest a good chip reapir company. My local VW dealership said it would need a full bonnet respray but before I go to that expense I would like to explore other options.

Its a very small chip - like a stone chip - but there was enough force to cause a small dent.

Re: Would you believe it?

I think this was accidental/carelessness rather than deliberate vandalism but its still pretty annoying. We normally keep the car off road at home but are currently staying in the lake district where there is only on-road parking (albeit in a quiet street). I do recall parking behind a builders van ...

Would you believe it?

My Scirocco was 1 week old yesterday and as a celebration, someone has dropped something on my bonnet and chipped/dented it.

It must have been the "white van" I was parked behind (now long gone!)

Re: Anyone confirm overall height with VW bars and largest T

Managed to get the bars on OK. The car wax idea worked a treat. Can someone tell me how the torque wrench is supposed to work. I was really worried about overtightening. Nothing seemed to click or move on the wrench as I expected. Other problem is that my Thule 591 bike carrier doesnt fix to it as t...

Re: Anyone confirm overall height with VW bars and largest T

I have discovered that my B&Q Diamond card works better (its stiffer). I will probably try lubricating it with a little car wax.

Do you lubricate it? I tried sliding it along but it keeps sticking.

Re: Anyone confirm overall height with VW bars and largest T

I have now got the car and roofbars.

However I am really struggling getting the little plastic strip thingy under the rubber trim. If I do manage to persuade it to go in it just bends when I try to prise the rubber strip back.

Is there a trick I am missing?

Re: Roof bars problem

Collected my new Viper today. I got the dealer to throw in some VW roof bars and he must have thrown them in pretty hard because when I opened the box, the plastic fold-up covers at one end of both bars were broken. The hinge is really flimsy. Needless to say they have been returned (good excuse to ...

Re: Retrofitted Cruise Control post week 45 (2010) cars only

I am picking up my new Scirocco next week. Dealer tells me that retrofit cruise control is not yet available but they are expecting it in a few weeks. Since they seem to have been spinning this line for months according to this thread, are they telling porkies? I am wondering whether its best to go ...

Re: Anyone confirm overall height with VW bars and largest T

Interested to see your pics. Very useful as I am about to sign on the dotted line for a new Scirocco and was concerned about how the bars would fit as the roof bars on the Golf in my local dealership fit quite differently. Also interested to see that yours is Viper Green as that is what I am conside...
