Re: What to do for winter?
The problem with using normal wheels on the back is that if you have to heavy brake in slippery conditions there is a good chance the rear will lock up or if your going round a corner the rear would slip out. No doubt modern ESP systems will help but I wouldnt chance it for the sake of £200 for a se...

Re: What to do for winter?
Winter tyres are worth there weight in gold IMO. Remember they work better in any condition lower that 7degC which is quite often in the UK so snow tyres is a bit of a misguided name. Dont worry about getting skinny narrow ones, Ive used 225/40/18's and they are just as good. I have mine on from abo...

Re: Modded Scirocco R To Buy Or Not To Buy?
Agree, nothing wrong with buying modified as long as you have proof of it being looked after. At the end of the day Id perfer a car that had been looked after but driven properly rather than one that had been nannied. They are designed and built for this.

They are the single best thing you can buy for winter. I will never drive another winter without them.

Re: Trade in values
True, that is what Im getting hung up on. In my case the cars Im looking at are pretty much the same value or cheaper in fact and they are likely to stay the same or even increase in price hence why I am considering the WBAC option.

Re: Trade in values
One thing to remember about WBAC valuations is that when you take the car to them they do everything they can to reduce the value for every stone chip, scratch, alloy kerb mark etc... They seem to have adopted tactics of higher valuations online to suck you in. Value of trade in is not important, c...

Godd point on the value, doesnt bother me but I can see why it would bother some. I suppose mine with 7months VW warranty will help though.

Re: 2.0l TSI things to watch for
Nothing really. Check cambelt change if its a TFSI engine and look at servicing record but thats about it. Ive run a Mk5 Golf Gti and now a Rocco TFSI and never heard of any real major issues with these engines. Ask how much oil it uses, the way the owner will answer will tell you how much they chec...
