Re: DSG Issue

After seeing your post yesterday I paid a bit more attention to the DSG changes. Mine also changes at about 1600-1700 rpm if being driven gently. I can't say the engine really labours though, its a pretty smooth transition for the level of throttle being applied. Is your car brand new? Maybe the eng...

Re: DSG Issue

Does it rev more if you stick it in S? It should rev much closer to the redline (mine actually revs a little higher than I think is necessary).

If I am very light on the throttle I find mine does change quite early, but soon kicks down if you need it too!

Re: Audio upgrade, an alternative to Dynaudio.

With regard to the sub enclosure does anyone know if the UK Scirocco comes with a spare wheel, or is it a space saver or tyre foam? The enclosure mounted as above would be perfect as there would be no space taken up and tyre foam is fine as a substitute for me. Scott UK cars come with a spacesaver ...

ah good, I think its one of the better diesel units out there too so you'll love it.

Its pretty dark in the back though, a vomitting teenager in the back would definately put me off :fall:

Re: 170 TDI, the good and the bad...opinions wanted

I've only had my 170 a few weeks now but thought I would stick my comments on too. Speed: Its definately a quick car once moving. I'v had a lot of cars in the past few years (vx220, 350z, remapped octavia vrs amongst others) at motorway speeds I would guess the 350z would just have the edge but it w...

Re: Polly's Screwed It All Up

Sounds like you may have already found the problem... (assuming you don't have sat nav Gary?) I seem to recall there being a light sensor on one of the top corners of the RCD. Your Parrot isn't obstructing that by any chance ? Yes the light sensor is on the top right of the RCD (i.e not sat nav ster...

Re: Judder and Rev-Counter Delay

Hmmm... well I had a look and I wouldn't say the needle "jumps" up the first 500 rpm. It certainly goes through them very quickly but I wouldn't say it wasn't smooth. No real judder either (well no worse than I would expect from a diesel!
