Have a google, I think they can be reapired but they have to remove the seal or somethign. Quite a lot of info on the pirelli website.
Also don't pay £200+ for them.
I just got 2 off black circles for around £180 fitted.

Re: Second hand deals
When I got mine the main dealers only seemed to have a little wiggle room, think I got £500 off the listed price but it all depends how desperate they are to sell. I went to look at one car that was overpriced, think it was on for something like £24,500. I spoke to the salesman and said it was over ...

Quite impressive, mine are on their wear markers at 15k...

Re: Winter MPG?
Good to see everyone has a similar experience and its not a fault on my car.
It all makes sense why mpg would be lower, its just suprising how sensitive it is.
Roll on summer!

Re: Winter MPG?
Mine's dropped 10mpg as well over the last month or so, with no change to my driving style and over the same routes. Sounds like its not just me then. It has actually been marginally better the last week because its been a bit warmer. I'm suprised it is soooo sensitive to temperature. (woul...

Winter MPG?
I know this has sort of been covered before but I was hoping for a little confirmation... I've got a tdi170 and my fuel economy seems to have dropped a good perecntage in the last few months. When I first got the car (in the summer) I would quite often manage 60+mpg on my 30 mile commute, now I am s...

Re: RNS 510 versus RCD 510
Couldn't quite tell from your post but are you installing the RNS because you want bluetooth or because you really want Nav? The RCD can have a bluetooth module added and do all the phone book, speed dial, etc that you are after too. I'm not 100% but I don't think the RNS has any additional function...

Re: What engine would you have?
Maybe I am wrong but I am pretty sure the diesels are holding their value a little better than the petrols right now so you will get more for your money if you go petrol. You will probably loose out a bit when it comes to resale too but depreciation is going to hurt either way! My choice for low mil...

Re: How's this look? Any advise
price looks OK after a haggle, but its not a bargain. Be aware that Servicing only cost £250 for a 2 year service package (they are doing £100 off with Das Weltauto deal thingy). Looks nice though if you like that blue (personally I don't think it works on a scirocco at all but I am majorly in the m...

tdi 170 for me, good compromise of performance and economy.
However if I didn't have a 60 mile commute I would have looked a lot more seriously at a petrol...

Re: Fuel/Distance Remaining, how low can it go?
I was down to 15 miles to go the other day (by accident and I drove very carefully averaging 56mpg by the time I got to the pumps) and still only managed to get 52litres in the tank.

Re: Fuel/Distance Remaining, how low can it go?
surely when it says it has 7 litres reserve, the reserve is from when you get into the red, not 7 litres left from when it says you have no miles left. Certainly seems about the right kind of distance left for 7 litres when the warning flashes up. I've got mine down to about 30 miles to go and have ...

Re: Best way to sell a 86 Scirocco GT ??
I saw a similar question to this on pistonheads a while back (it wasn't you was it?) It looks fantastic but the mk2s don't seem to be a collectors item (yet) so I don't know what the chances are of someone wanting a non runner. And if they do they might just break it which would be a crying shame. I...

Re: 170 TDI, the good and the bad...opinions wanted
in the UK you'll pay a lot more for remapping than paying the difference between a 140GT and a 170 GT. Probably £100-150 a year on your insurance for the privilege of running a remap . That seems like a very conservative insurance estimate. When I had my old octavia mapped most insurance companies ...

Re: Anyone gone from a 2.0 TSi to a diesel
I went from a 200bhp octavia petrol to 170. No problems at all. Its a quick motor.
DSG does work very nicely with the diesel too. Well worth the extra in my opinion.

Tried an old Samsung phone on my bluetooth this morning and it worked perfectly.
So it looks like its a problem with my android.
Oh well, nearly upgrade time....
